A bond forged in Catholic school, an unspoken attraction that outlasts years of separation and other relationships.
Ren and Cole never acted on that thing that always bubbled beneath the surface of their friendship, not until a chance encounter in a Santa Fe bar and a song that would tip the scales forced them to confront their feelings. Will the influence of a music superstar, a New York socialite and a mystical property manager finally bring them together, or will a history of missed opportunities, their own fears and an impending wedding keep them apart? Can they just have one night, and then walk away?
Forever Man is a story of the consequences of the choices we make, and how the courage to change can last a lifetime.
“I was a coward, Ren. And I’m… I’m so very sorry.”
Ren touches Cole’s cheek. “You were an idiot.”
“I was an idiot.”
“I was an idiot, too. I still am, I think.”
“Why do you say that?” Cole asks, his heart in his throat.
“Because this idiot is hopelessly, madly, undeniably in love with you, and has been for a very, very long time… and, aside from admitting to a schoolboy’s crush once up on a time, never did a damn thing about it.”
Cole lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. His head drops in relief, falling on to Ren’s thigh, and he’s kissing Ren’s hand—fast kisses, a dozen or more, in gratitude.
“Oh Ren, Ren. Say it again. Say it one thousand times.”
Ren lifts Cole’s head, and just as he did not two hours before, holds his face in his hands. But this time is different. This time he looks down on Cole with shining eyes and says, “You are so in love with me.”
Cole whispers, “Yes, yes, yes.”
“And I am so in love with you.”
“Oh God. Yes.”
Their kiss is long and deep. Cole feels it in every cell in his body: this opening up, this rightness. When it’s too much he pulls away, plasters his face into Ren’s neck until he catches his breath and then dives back in again, taking hold, slipping every secret wish into Ren’s mouth as his tongue lays claim over its contours. He feels like Ren is sucking the truth right out of him, pulling him down, down, down until they are both panting and dazed with the enormity of it all.
This book is a stand alone book with an HEA.
Ren is a designer working in New Mexico for a difficult client for a few weeks. He is from NY and is engaged to a politically connected gay activist, named Paul. Their relationship seems comfortable, but not “epic”, as they are both content to spend time apart.
Unexpectedly, Ren runs into his best friend from high school, Paul. There are a lot of unrequited feelings between these two. Guilt, angst, love, fate and contentment are but a few of the feelings flying back & forth. Paul is in a relationship, but realizes that everyone is just a minor version of Ren. Will these 2 men realize true love exists between them? Will they change their lives for a chance at true happiness?
just a typically love story, though. Two people are getting a second chance and deciding if they will change their lives to attain true happiness. There are no surprises and the ending was inevitable and, while romantic, it was quite boring.
This book is for an adult audience due to instances of graphic m/m sex.
I’m giving this book 3 fangs.

FOREVER MAN: Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock Blog
1.) Is writing your only profession?
Yes. I started out as a playwright, and when my son was born, I started ghostwriting books. I’ve been a ghostwriter for nine years.
2.) Who was your favorite character to write? Why?
I loved writing June Merryfeather, the wise bartender at the Pink Adobe who sees the love between Cole and Ren before they can admit it to themselves, or each other. She is loosely based off of a dear friend of mine, a wacky costume designer who lives in the mountains outside of Santa Fe. She always saw right through my B.S.
3.) Who are some of your favorite authors?
I’ll read anything John Green, John Iriving, Armistead Maupin, Louise Erdrich and Sam Shepard write, without question. In the last few years I’ve grown to love books by Amy Bloom, Wally Lamb, and Annie Proulx.
4.) What is your favorite writing snack you eat or drink while writing?
An extra dry cappuccino. I used to have this bizarre ritual of writing all night. I would boil potatoes and make a pot of coffee, then eat the potatoes for dinner and drink coffee with Bailey’s Irish Crème. So weird, so unhealthy.
5.) What makes you mad enough to want to throat punch a person? LOL
I’m not sure I would ever throw a throat punch, but willful ignorance makes me mad enough to consider it.
6.) What is your favorite TV show?
Of all time? Northern Exposure. My favorite TV shows currently on the air are Orange is the New Black, The Rachel Maddow Show and Glee.
7.) What would be your favorite vacation spot (with no money limitation)?
Tuscany. Just give me three months in Tuscany and I’ll be right as rain.
