My Coyote Ugly Life by Jessica Spoon

“How on earth do I get myself in these situations? I swear it’s like a never-ending bad dream. One of all my mistakes that continuously bite me in my size ten ass.”
Azaria ‘Ree’ Gable had her one experience with heartbreak and that was enough for her. She’s perfectly satisfied with her ‘One Month Rule’ and doesn’t need her life changing anytime soon.
When circumstances take her back home, she learns things have changed…
First and foremost being with the complete and astonishing overhaul and revamp of the Belton Police Department, where apparently the application was changed to state ‘Ugly Men Need Not Apply’ and the only requirement is ‘How Well Do You Look In This Uniform?’
Ree unexpectedly catches the eye of the new ‘gina-quiver inducing Chief of Police Grayson Cole, which starts an endless game of cat and mouse.
Will Ree let go of her misconceptions about relationships and allow Grayson to show her how beautiful life can really be?
At 27, Azaria Elle Gable (Ree) thinks she has her life figured out. She has 3 other siblings who are happily settled down, most with kids. Ree knows that is not the life for her, despite what her mother thinks. After having her heart broken when she was young, Ree decides one night stands and short-term relationships are the way for her to go. She has a One Month Rule. After dating for a month, it’s over, no ifs, ands or buts about it. Since Ree figures guys are only after one thing anyway, she’s determined (really determined) not to give them a chance to break her heart. If it’s a one night stand, Ree likes to slip away before the guy even wakes up. With her mother needing help at home due to medical reasons, Ree moves back home help out, albeit in her own place. Although she loves the city way of life, it is nice to be back in her small hometown, even if temporarily. Since Ree works out of her home as a graphic designer, her work won’t suffer, and she really loves her mom. Enter Grayson Cole, the Belton Chief of Police, totally hot and sexy, in and out of uniform. Ree knows she’s in trouble due to her strong attraction to Grayson and sets out to run hard and fast. Nuh-uh, Grayson is having none of it and pursues her harder and faster. It is hot, hot, HOT. The hilarious antics of Ree and long-time friends, Dakota and Malia, their interactions with Grayson’s deputies, all of whom look great in a uniform, Ree’s family (especially her matchmaking mother who has exceptionally bad timing), and the busybody townspeople, will have you laughing out loud. As Grayson continually told Ree, “You’re a goof”. Yes, she definitely was that, and a totally lovable one, without a filter. When tragedy strikes, Ree has to decide what she really wants out of life to ultimately make her happy. My Coyote Ugly Life is an exceptionally well-written novel. I found it hard to put down, as I was just enjoying the characters way too much. It was like opening the window and letting in the fresh air on a cool summer day. If there are going to be more “Belton” books out, I will be hot on the trail of the next “Holy Grail”.
My first book, Darkness Deserved, released July/2013. It is the first book in the Shattering the Darkness Series.
I’m crazy and love my friends, family and booze. Yes. Booze. (Don’t judge me.)
I used to never read when I was growing up. My mother always tried to get me to read and I wanted no part in it. I figured why read when it’s going to be a movie. (Yes, like I said crazy.)
Well a few years ago I jumped on the Twilight band wagon. I’ve always loved supernatural movies and when I saw the previews I knew I wanted to see it. And see it I did. I immediately went out and bought the books and became hooked.
They came to me at a very special time in my life.
I discovered I loved to read and found my nitch in the paranormal and romance genre. I started a book club with a cousin and all of a sudden these thoughts kept assaulting my brain.
So I wrote them down. Then, deciding that I wanted to write, I contacted some wonderfully amazing women who helped me through the process. This is the result.
I love Breccan and Harper and hope you all do as well. The book is dark and graphic. It pushes the boundaries and will make you cry, (hopefully) laugh and (hopefully) fall in love.
