Hunted: Brides of the Kindred 2 by Evangeline Anderson *Audio Review

This book has picked up right after book one. In book one we became highly acquainted with Olivia and her kindred warrior as well as the whole premise behind The Kindred as a species. In book two we get to know Olivia’s twin on a deeper level as well as Sylvan (her kindred warrior protector). We also get bits of Kat and her warriors Locke and Deep.
I really struggled with this book on many levels. Similarly to book one, I am not crazy about this narrator. She over emphasizes her pronunciation making her reading very clinical in a lot of areas. While she does provide each character with their own personality with her voice changes, she does not work for me.
I was highly frustrated with this book and Sophie’s “I’m a weak victim” persona. She just seemed like a whiney brat to me until the point where she starts taking charge. At that point, I start to like her but then she comes across as a ditzy girl.
Slyvan is such an honorable warrior through the entire book and I think that is what saved my rating.
I do feel as though there are pieces missing though. For example, Sylvan broke his vow to the Mother, what are the repercussions? This was just left unspoken. While the author does a good job leading into her next book, I am not sure I am going to rush to read it. Sadly this one only scores a three fang review from PRATR!
