When Vivian Cartwright was five years old, she witnessed her mother’s death. Now, sixteen-year-old Vivian only wants a normal life, but to do that she must keep her ability to control energy a secret. Only her guardian, Charlotte, who has hidden Vivian from the man responsible for her mother’s murder, knows of her staggering power.
Her secret is safe until Vivian defends herself at school using her power. After this first use of her gift in many years, Vivian’s power seems to take on a mind of its own, increasing in strength and bringing dreams of her mother’s death and the mysterious man associated with it.
In her desire to unlock her past, Vivian is forced to use her supernatural gift over and over. With each use, Vivian fears she is losing control and discovers her powers are growing—maybe too much—bringing her unknowingly closer to the man who murdered her mother, but she soon learns she can’t escape her past . . . or her future. When she will finally learns the truth, it will turn her world upside-down.
Warning, may contain spoilers! The Vivid Trilogy is a great read. It includes Vivid, Vicious and Vengeance (books 1, 2 and 3 respectively). It follows the story of a young lady and her trials and tribulations. Her trials? Because she was born with a “power”…she is an element and a healer. You follow her through being bullied at school, to meeting her love (who is drawn to her by the way!), to meeting her uncle, meeting her father and her sister. She battles both herself and the evil organization that wants her to do their bidding…and their bidding is NOT a good thing! It wouldn’t be an evil organization otherwise 😉 There is tragedy and death, but there is also love and hope. She has amazing friends that help her along the way and random people she meets as she runs away that help too. Over all I thought it was a very interesting story line, an easy read and I didn’t put it down till I finished it.
