Title: Amanda Moonstone: The Missing Prince
Author: Dan Wright
Genre: YA Fantasy
“No one is past redemption”
Threatened with eviction, Amanda Moonstone stumbles across a lost Prince, of which there is a reward for his safe return. Little does Amanda know is that this “reward” is actually a wicked plan created by the tyrannical King Kimera to keep his claim on the Royal Throne intact. However, finding the Prince may just be the key to undoing the one mistake that has haunted Amanda for over a year. Because being a sorceress comes with a terrible price… From the shadows, a mysterious man in black watches every step Amanda takes. But what is his purpose? And what part does the insidious Blood gem (her most guarded of gems) have to play in Amanda’s future?
Amanda is a down on her luck sorceress who finds a boy and a wolf in the forest and decides to help them, to a point. Amanda needs money and returning Daryl to the capitol will bring her a really big reward she desperately needs. An evil king wants to kill Daryl and when Amanda realizes that, she tries to save the boy.
>This story was written for young adults, but there were at least 2 innuendos I noticed aimed at adults. The book had illustrations in the Anime style and a lot of silly thoughts from Amanda to add some humor.
> The story was predictable to me. I even saw the Wolvie twist from the first moment we met the wolf. The character of the Author was confusing. He wasn’t in the story enough to form an opinion or understand his purpose. The characterization of Daryl was uneven. Daryl was portrayed as a 6 year old by having him act like human tornado who never stops speaking and repeats questions. Later in the story, Daryl has no trouble holding his tongue and behaving.
> I am giving this book 3 fangs.
