Evangeline Scott was hoping for a fun night on the town after a hellish day. What she couldn’t have imagined was getting kidnapped by alien slavers and then left to die on an abandoned ship.
Kai Dallen and Roan Quinn were having some bad luck of their own when they found themselves set up by an old adversary and trapped in the vault of a Dhuaation Pharaoh’s ship with no way out. When Khaman-Ra makes them an offer they can’t refuse, the two space pirates end up rescuing a ship full of human female cargo. All three males are immediately drawn to one of the beauties and make an agreement to satisfy everyone’s desires. The only problem is, they didn’t think to ask Eve and when she wakes up to find that she’s now married to three aliens she’s mad as hell. By the time all four of them realise their true feelings, will it be too late, as a woman from Roan’s past threatens to ruin it all?
Kham handed her a drink when the server came around, and she enjoyed the mildly fruity wine that he had given her. When all of the men suddenly stilled and looked off to the right with expressionless faces she didn’t know what was happening. But a few seconds later when a tall beautiful blonde with an icy cold smirk strode up in front of Arkenon, Eve guessed she was about to meet her evil nemesis.
“Arkenon, so good to see you,” the woman said in an exaggerated tone as she stopped a few feet in front of Roan’s brother.
She was wearing an almost nonexistent bright red dress. There were only a few straps of material holding it onto her clearly enhanced bust. Eve could feel the jealousy creeping up as she compared her curvy frame to Lara’s willowy model-size body. When the other woman’s eyes found her and did a once-over she was quickly dismissed as they then moved on to Roan’s body.
“So,” she continued in a haughty tone, “your wayward brother has finally come home to do his duty.”
“Not likely,” was all Roan replied in return as he put his arm around Eve and pulled her closer.
“Lara, you were notified that Roan is now mated and that due to your instability the agreement between our families has been annulled,” Arkenon said in a respectful voice that was surprising considering the loathing that Eve could see in his eyes.
“Well, you can’t blame a girl for trying, can you? I thought I’d give Roan a chance to change his mind once I saw the homely little alien he’s tied himself to,” Lara replied, running her hands along the farce of a dress she was wearing, “I’d even be willing to take on the pharaoh and Kai if you insist on a package deal. I think I may enjoy that very much actually.”
Eve was seriously pissed now. This hussy had not only called her ugly, but the crazy biotch had actually just offered to step in and take all three of her husbands from her!
“Why you crazy bit—” Eve said as she tried to lunge forward and grab the other woman by her brassy blonde roots.
Review of Eve’s Rescue by Sarah Marsh
Eve’s Rescue is the third novel in the Coalition Mates series but don’t worry, it can be read as a standalone. First of all, I must confess I am a fan of this alien kidnapping-romance series. However, I am really careful when it comes to books with multiple mates. Therefore, I must warn you. If you are uncomfortable with M/M and steamy sexual intercourse between a female and three very hot and seductive alien males, well, this isn’t the book for you.
In this novel, we get to know the story of Evangeline Scott or Evie. She is a beautiful young woman with great curves and amazing young hair that lost her job. On the same that that it happen, she goes to a club with a couple of her unemployed crew and finds herself being kidnapped by some alien that want to sell her in the black market to the better poster. By some miracle, she is rescued by a sexy pair of security chiefs of another ship and, in the blink of an eye; she is married to those two hot male specimens and their new mate, the Pharaoh that commands the ship she is in. What better way to get over unemployment, right? However, Eve is a strong female that isn’t that happy with the fact that her three lovers didn’t even asked her opinion on the matter before they tied the knot with her. Hell, she wasn’t even conscious when the papers were signed and sent to the planets of her mates.
I have to admit that the author did a wonderful job with the personality of the three husbands. The Pharaoh, Kahm, was by far my very best favorite. He is the epitome of a royal gentleman with a very healthy mix of alpha male. He isn’t only great looking and elegant but also considerate, sweet and gentle when it comes to Eve. However, don’t let that misguide you, he is every bit male and knows how to make all her mates scream with delight. Roan and Kai, are a different breed. Their species is raised to be courtesans of the highest caliber. However, they decided to use their pheromones and hot muscles to live adventures as pirates. They wanted freedom instead of making people do they will in exchange for sexual favors. Funny thing is that things started changing when they met the Pharaoh and they, definitely, did a 180° when all of them met the lovely Eve. Even though both are adventures at heart, their personalities are pretty different. Roan is a narcissist jerk that also happens to be a naughty smooth talker. What a dangerous combination, right? Nevertheless, he is loyal and protective when it comes to his mates. So is Kai. However, is a little bit tamer than Roan and takes his time to analyze the situation. He doesn’t what is best for his mates and, in fact, I think he could even be a bit more considerate and sensitive than Kahm. How could a lady choose? Good thing they didn’t make Eve decide just for one.
Eve, on the other hand, has this attitude that, to some point had me murmur: Really, girl? She wants to show those men a lesson: No matter how hot you are, you can’t assume you are a gift to the females of the universe. They didn’t ask for her opinion when it came to the wedding and even when she knows their reasons, they still acted to smug and assumed she will be complacent when it comes to them and will do everything they said. She will show them that female humans aren’t as submissive as they thought. What I truly didn’t like about her was the fact that she accepted everything, from the kidnapping and not returning to her planet to the wedding, so well. She even let those men touch her and have their way with her so fast. I didn’t think that was believable at all. Nevertheless, I was truly captivated by the attitude of Kahm, Kai and Roan. I truly believe they made up for the bratty, bossy and sometimes submissive attitude of Eve.
