In a world imbued with strange powers and lingering passions, the past machinations of the doomed Faeling irrevocably changes forever the Neilson sisters’ future.
Nothing had seemed easier than waking that morning. Even if the weather was foreboding and the planned destination less than ideal, Melory had secretly looked forward to the car trip with her twin, Lorrie, to get away from the dull, grey winter city and the clamour of the busy Salon where she worked. The lush West Coast wilderness and farmlands on the other side of the gorge offered a calmer pace, a chance to take her mind from her relationship woes. After all she and Lorrie hadn’t been this way together for at least the last fourteen years. Nothing less than the importance of celebrating their father and Uncle Joe’s sixtieth birthday would have induced the sisters back to the old farmstead, to the bosom of their intense and struggling family, but it had felt right. It was time to put bad blood behind them.
Yet as Lorrie’s bright red car had edged its way through the torrential rain and the howl of gusting winds onto the lip of the precarious road, a low and horrifying rumble had turned their world to terror. A sea of grey, vibrating rocks and dirt sent the small vehicle into the void and the women into a nightmare.
Lorrie had always had an imagination. An imagination she had channelled into numerous, dark and light, humorous and touching pieces of art; carvings, drawings, prints. Such things had been her life, yet no imagining had prepared her for the aftermath of their fateful trip… to waken to wilderness, vast tracks of lonely, dark and ominous forest. Nothing was familiar, nothing but her little sister. And even the comfort of her presence could not keep the fear or the panic at bay.
The world of Abod le A’nor stood waiting…
From the near new city of the civilised Oremen, to the wild untamed clans of the warrior nations of the Ancients, to the primitive quiet villages of a long lived and isolated people; their Dreamers dreamed and sensed the streams of time eddying and calling. The Gift was here, and all eyes turned to the rugged climes of the southlands.
Who would be first to claim it – to claim her – the one their prophecies named ‘Child of Rueble’ – Gift of the Blood God?
But from the isolation of a hidden isle, the great Heartstone – Alagoth, the trapped and doomed prince of Faeling kind – pulsed with anticipation. His plan was coming to fruition. Not long now and she would be his, he knew it for both women belonged to him…

When sisters Melora and Lorrie Nelson headed through the gorge for a family celebration, tragedy strikes. What comes next no one could of seen coming, they woke up to a world where nothing made sense. What’s happened to them? Why is everything so different? Who or what is after them? Can they save themselves with danger and possible death following them? Good storyline and I really liked the characters. Independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance & Authors That Rock. 3 fangs
