Threads of Destiny by Lea Roches *Review

Eve is a Morai. A new breed of paranormal than I am used to. She is a “twister of fates”, inclined to follow a set of rules or morals that her mother gave her at the tender age of four. The hard part about being a twister is that you never really know how those twists will affect the people and world around you. How would you ever know that the twists that your are doing are meant to be done or if you are doing them for your own benefit. As seen in this novella we see three sides of twisting, the reserved, the blatant disregard for others, and the questionable personal gain ones. I think this author has a great idea, but I found myself having to re-read a lot to understand where she was going with the story. Then at the end of the book, I am left wondering what the point of the last paragraph is. I could not tell if the author wanted a cliff hanger and just was not sure how to make it happen effectively or if better tie in could have happened earlier in the novella. Good start, but needs work.
