This is the first book in the Hearts of Orion series and ends in an HEA for the main couple. Anne and her sister, Missy are both famous. Anne is an actress and Missy is a model. They both, along with their family members have a secret. They each have some kind of power they were born with. It seemed funny to me that they felt compelled to keep the secret, yet the Anne and Missy tended to use their gifts in their careers. Missy used her gift of persuasion to be a successful ad model and Anne used her ability to control cars to start out her career as a stunt driver.
>Anne comes back to her home town and is assigned a bodyguard, Dean, who also had relatives in Anne’s home town. There is a horrible accident and getting through the aftermath brings a lot of secrets to the surface. Missy’s reaction to the accident seems very selfish. In fact, even though the story is not really about Missy, the way she treats Evan and the way she uses her gift for personal gain made her very hard to like.
>Anne starts off as a deva, but you end up liking her. Not so with Missy. The plot should have been a good one, but it seemed silly that practically everyone had a hidden secret and no one put two and two together until the stalker became involved. For everything being a secret, they sure told their secrets quite easily. The origins of their talents are mentioned, but not really looked in to. The whole thing with Anne needing cars or engines to survive seemed like an evil Herbie the Love Bug plot line.
>The romance was sweet, but knowing Anne’s lifestyle wasn’t going to change. She was still going to do love scenes and move around a lot, didn’t set up Dean for the long term. Dean seemed like the love of the moment, not of her life.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am a reviewer for Romance Authors that Rock. I am giving the story 3 hearts.
