Adrian comes across a woman in distress, she is being attacked by a fledgling vampire. He rushes in to save her and to dispatch the rogue vampire. That’s his job, he’s a vampire hunter for the Covenant, keeping the vampire world secret from the humans.
Kayci was out for a run when she was attacked, she thought vampires were just make believe. Her life will forever be changed after this attack. Kayci has always had some strange abilities, she is faster and stronger than most people and she heals very quickly.
There is an attraction between Adrian and Kayci that neither can ignore. He can’t seen to stay away and she doesn’t want him to. This connection leads Kayci to the truth of what she really is. Her adoptive parents were normal humans and knew nothing about her birth parents.
When Kayci becomes the target of an evil vampire, Adrian must protect her. A long way away, another feels her fear and rises to come to her aide. Kayci also has a witch helping her, giving her some protection against the vampires that want to harm her.
Suddenly Kayci’s life is very complicated but she finally has some things that have always been missing, someone that loves her, a real family, and the knowledge of what she really is.
This is an exciting love story with a lot of plot twists that keeps you guessing. It’s filled with action, danger, hot sex, mystery and even a little sadness, a very good read.
