Something sinister is hunting the streets of Silverlake City and no one is safe, especially when the police don’t have a single lead. But Vanessa Kensley doesn’t have time to worry about serial killers. Being a Succubus means she has her own problems to deal with. At least she did, until it started to look like she could be the killer’s next target. Now, drawn deep into the shadows of Silverlake City she finds herself in a world where she no longer has to hide what she is and the vampires become the family that she never thought she would have. But a twisted force threatens to expose their world with a need for death and power, tearing apart the family that she only just found.
Now it’s up to her and the Silverlake Coven to put an end to all of the savage killings going on in the city before the darkness closing in around them can claim her first.
Blood and Hunger is about Vanessa Kensley. Vanessa is a secretary working for a law firm and enjoying her free time when she can and living a normal life. But no one realizes she is a succubus, and she has some powers she uses in very special cases, like getting into nightclubs, and some requirements like feeding on sexual energy on a regular basis. While out with the girls a guy grabs her and gets very aggressive, and while she can handle him and shoves him away from her, the guy ends up dead. Then later that some night another body is left in her doorway like an offering from a cat. Vanessa goes to a friend’s house for a while and things seem to get back to normal. Two weeks after the really bad night, Vanessa goes out of feed and a vampire named William approaches her and wants to feed. He is shocked when she doesn’t taste right and remembers being bitten. William takes Vanessa to meet Elizabeth and other vampires, and she is invited to learn about them and maybe herself. But she feels like she is being watch again, and a dead cat along with dead roses is sent to her office the next day and so now the police are back again. Will Vanessa get to learn about herself? Will the vampires help her out? Read and see!
This book is awesome. The characters come alive very quickly and the reader is pulled into the story very fast. I had a hard time putting this book down once I started reading. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys thriller with a twist or paranormal style stories.
I’m giving this book 5 hearts
