Book 1 in in the heartblaze series has ALOT going on!! Young Emma has always known she was different, but realizes how different after an incident where she assaults a college professor. There were dueling male characters and I’m honestly not sure who was meant to be the main male lead. This book left me with a lot of questions and some disappointments, that I can’t go to in depth on without giving too much away. I’m torn in my rating, so I’m going to go with a 3.5 hearts. This book was interesting, but never grabbed me. I think partly that there was so much going on and I felt like I needed a glossary of terms so it lost me a little bit. There’s also so many plots going on that all kinda abruptly end was a bit of a turn off. Finally, although this is not a tremendously long story it is not a quick read because you have to really pay attention to what is going on and ponder what a lot meant and why. I don’t think I’ll look for the next one.
