The novel “Drone World” is set in a futuristic dystopian city like the books of Divergent or Maze Runner. The book’s content is similar to the movies ‘Minority Report’ (predicting crime) meets ‘Logan’s Run’ (authority determines when you die).
This book is topical – it looks at a city where drone technology is common place. Today drones are part of our lives from the military to enforcement to entertainment. Not just outside our windows – everywhere we live, eat, shop and the many forms they take.
Imagine a city with cameras on every corner, monitoring your every move. A world where no crime goes unpunished, no criminal can escape. No place you can hide.
I live in the safest city in the world . . . until I tried to leave it.

seconds. There was hope for me yet. I looked over at the limp form of
the officer.

They went into a vent and must have flown up to the surface. The

go first. The machine reached with its metal hand and pulled the door
handle forward. A great rush of heat burst towards us as the fresh

climbed the stairs, where the sickly smoke made visibility difficult.
There were several minutes of climbing before we reached the ground
level, one floor higher than where I was held captive. We opened the
door to a courtyard and I surveyed the city. I felt sick. There were
fires, a huge crater in a street and people were streaming into the
park. What
happened while I was captured? How could the safest city in the world
turn to this?

Realm Of The Dragon
by CiCi Cordelia
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Paranormal
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
An ancient legend spanning eras, continents, and worlds. To some, it’s nothing more than a dream. To others, a pretty fairy tale handed down through the generations.
For those in critical need of their own happy ending, a gift.
For sheltered Lily Kiers, it’s all too real. Her escape from danger, straight into the arms of her destiny.
Thrust into a realm made of fantasy and unbridled passion, Lily faces violent resentment and jealousy from extremely powerful enemies. Amidst fierce creatures whose very existence defy all common sense, Lily pieces together a past she could never have imagined.
Claimed by Kord, Prince of Battle Draconian, their love will not be denied, even as malevolent forces plot to rip them apart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT
The power of her passion, twining through him, almost brought Kord to his knees. He wanted to take her down to the lush grass, peel the silky tunic from her perfect breasts, and caress every inch of her skin. All his good intentions to be patient were on the verge of crumbling.
His dragon’s insistence that he claim her here and now severely tested his control. The last thread of his resistance slipped away.
“Lily,” he groaned against her lips, cupping her soft breast in his palm.
“Yes.” She arched and shuddered, seeking another kiss, opening wider for his tongue. Her nails dug into his shoulders.
The realm, the games, his impending challenge . . . it all spun away as he lost himself in Lily’s kisses. Her passion drove him mad with want. Until he finally gathered enough brain control to remember his promise to proceed with patience, and managed to break the kiss.
The needy purr she formed of his name, pierced his heart.
“Lily—”
“I’m thinking Prince Big Bro could use some cooling off.” The voice, tinged with familiar, cheerful sarcasm, infiltrated Kord’s fogged senses.
He lifted his head and stared dumbly at his annoying brother, then glanced at Lily, who looked as dazed as he felt.
Bakka flashed a grin as he swept into an expansive bow, bending low.
Deadly Delusions
by Barbara Ebel, M.D.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Suspense/thriller
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Under the auspices of a stellar attending doctor, medical student Annabel Tilson flourishes on her psychiatry rotation where Victor Blake is the first patient safely ensconced in her care. While other complex and unexpected patients come under the psychiatry team’s care and Annabel dabbles in her own risky behavior, Victor is ready for discharge and is sent home. In the coming week after her star patient is given his freedom, however, Annabel and her mentor have no idea about the harrowing cascade of events taking place.
Readers beware: this chilling psychiatric patient will impact them all.
*****
Please enjoy DEADLY DELUSIONS which is Book Two in the medical and personal adventures of medical student Annabel Tilson. Book One is DEAD STILL. Each book is also a standalone novel.
Annabel’s novels are a spinoff from her father’s series, The Dr. Danny Tilson Novels, especially Book Four – Secondary Impact. Those books are:
Book One: Operation Neurosurgeon
Book Two: Silent Fear: a Medical Mystery (also an audiobook)
Book Three: Collateral Circulation: a Medical Mystery (also an audiobook)
Book Four: Secondary Impact suspense/thriller
Annabel smiled. “Correct,” Selina said and leaned forward. “Now, tell us more about your background. Can you remember being involved with team sports or having many friends five or ten years ago?”
Victor raised his eyebrows in surprise. “I had a skateboard when I was little but stopped riding it. Later, I watched other kids play basketball. At first I wanted to shoot baskets like them but then I was unmotivated and they pretended I wasn’t on the spectator’s bench.”
“What about friends outside of basketball?”
Victor twitched one shoulder. “Nah. Over time, I was different from everybody at school. It was easier to go home where my mother let me buy turtles at first. Afterwards, I had two gerbils. Of course, I switched later to other things.”
Annabel made another key point for her ongoing paper project. ‘Progressive social isolation.’
“Having pets taught you to care for other living things,” Selina said, “so I’m glad you mother allowed you to keep them. Perhaps through the group therapy sessions, you can talk more at ease with patients like yourself. It’s a start … to be less withdrawn. Engaging in some activities with family or friends is productive and keeps patients like you centered in the real world.”
“Okay, doc.” He stood up. “I want to come back on Wednesday for that. Can I go now?”
“Yes, Victor, you may take off. Keep up the good work.”
“Good bye,” Annabel said. “Thanks for helping me with my education.”
Victor smiled. “As long as you don’t make fun of me,” he said.
“Never,” Annabel replied.
“You can write the update,” Dr. Keeton said when Victor left, “and I’ll sign the progress note if it meets with my approval. Our star paranoid schizophrenic is managing his illness.”
Annabel felt confident her note would be worthy of Selina’s signature.
In this novel, Annabel, a third year med student, finds herself in a psychiatry rotation. I found the discussion of the various versions of mental illness that the patients with whom Annabel and her fellow students come in contact handled with knowledge and respect. The attending, Dr. Keeton, is portrayed as a mentor in every sense of the word, and it makes the reader wish she were his or her own physician. What I particularly enjoyed about the book, however, is the fact that all of the characters are written with very human failings, which makes them all very three-dimensional. It would have been so easy for the author to portray the patients as stereotypes, but they weren’t.
Readers of Robin Cook and Kathy Reichs will likely enjoy this series. There are discussions of somewhat risky behavior and the vocabulary is, due to the subject matter, relatively advanced, so I would recommend it to mature readers 16+.
A Boy Like you by Ginger Scott #Review
Posted by brriske
They say everyone’s a superhero to someone. I’m not sure who I’m supposed to save, but I know who saved me.
We were kids. His name was Christopher. And up until the day he pulled me from death’s grip, he was nothing more than a boy I felt sorry for. In a blink of an eye, he became the only person who made me feel safe.
And then he disappeared.
Now I’m seventeen. I’m not a kid anymore. I haven’t been for years. While death didn’t take me that day, the things that happened left me with scars—the kind that robbed me of everything I once loved and drove me into darkness. But more than anything else, that day—and every day since—has taken away my desire to dream.
I wasn’t going to have hope. I wouldn’t let myself wish. Those things—they weren’t for girls like me. That’s what I believed…until the new boy.
He’s nothing like the old boy. He’s taller and older. His hair is longer, and his body is lean—strong and ready for anything. I don’t feel sorry for him. And sometimes, I hate him. He challenges me. From the moment I first saw him standing there on the baseball field, he pushed me—his eyes constantly questioning, doubting…daring. Still, something about him—it feels…familiar.
He says his name is Wes. But I can’t help but feel like he’s someone else. Someone from my past. Someone who’s come back to save me.
This time, though, he’s too late. Josselyn Winters, the girl he once knew, is gone. I am the threat; I am my worst enemy. And he can’t save me from myself.
Excellent. Loved the characters. This story pulled me in quickly and I fought to make myself put it down for family and work both!! Tears were shed, both happy and sad ones. Frustration emerged at the end as I hadn’t realized this was episode one of a new series and it ended rather abruptly. I’m good with continuing serial books, I just hadn’t expected this one to be one!
As an independent reviewer for Romance Authors that Rock, this author gets a full five beating hearts for teen angst and true love! Enjoy! Hopefully the second book won’t be too far behind this one!!
Can’t post on Amazon till it releases.
Each story stands on it’s own some will grab you more than others. They are well written, the characters are multifaceted for the most part. The book is an anthology and they are novella’s several I would like to see as stand alone because I enjoyed the story so well and wanted to know more about the characters and their growth alone and together. Two on One Breakaway was probably my favorite, and the one that left me wanting to know more, about Haley, Ian, and Derek.
Overall, the stories flow nicely, I would recommend this for anyone that loves menage, but think if you are looking for something to spice up Valentine’s Day – this is definitely worth the read. 4 hot hearts
