Bleeding Hearts by Ash Krafton

Sophie Galen is an advice columnist who is saving the world – one damned person at a time. Shy and sensitive Sophie has all but given up on love until she meets Marek, a mysterious stranger who seduces her with his striking good looks and his take-charge attitude. Yet the darkness she senses within him may be more than she is prepared to handle when Marek draws her into a world of vampires, werewolves, and treachery. Forced to leave behind the comfortable routines and certainties of her past, Sophie makes unbearable sacrifices and uncovers hidden truths about herself and the world around her.

Bleeding Hearts is the first book in the Demimonde series of books. It is about Sophie, who is a former nurse turned advice columnists. She is very troubled. There was a man writing who was depressed and she was unable to help him. She knew this when she saw his obituary in the newspaper, but the problem is that he wrote her another letter just last week. Now how can someone come back from the dead to write her, and how did he know her home address instead of sending it to the magazine where she works? When talking to her editor Barbara about it, Barbara suggested maybe it had been written before his death, but the post mark on the letter is after. And it is his handwriting and signature, Sophie is sure about it. The whole thing has left her feeling very uneasy. When Sophie is heading to the bus stop a homeless man approaches her for a quarter, and instead she gives him a bus token and tells him where there is a very good shelter. After the man moves off another man gives Sophie a hard time about being too naïve and told her she was wasting her time trying to help. This makes all the weird feelings even worse. What is going on? This is the very beginning of the book and it just pulls the reader in right away. I will not spoil anything so you must get it to read for yourself.

This book is awesome. The character development is excellent and the story flows along at a nice pace. If you like stories about paranormal, vampire like subspecies and thrilling action. I can’t wait to get the next book in the series. This is a great book for anyone who likes paranormal fantasy novels.

I’m giving this book 5 hearts

Scarlett Legacy by Shelli Roswarne

What if the fairy tales were real, but they had it all wrong? Come meet a Big Bad Wolf like you’ve never seen before.

When Natalia rents a holiday cottage she is looking for peace and quiet, a place to reassess her life and recover from her failed relationship. Instead she finds a man who turns her world upside down.

People and things are not as they seem, and Natalia begins to find that legends are real and fairy tales have a basis in reality. As she grows closer to the enigmatic Damian she finds herself tested as danger and passion go in hand in hand, and everything she thought she knew about the world will be questioned.

After years of waiting Damian had given up hope that he would ever find his destined mate, and he certainly never expected her to be a sassy American who has no idea that his world even exists. Now he needs to convince Natalia to believe in the impossible, and more importantly, protect her from those who seek to destroy his people

A twist on little Red Riding Hood so already you know the general idea of the book and the course it will take. However, it’s always good to keep an open mind with authors like Shelli who take on a challenge like a fairytale. This story had the awesome potential to become something great but I felt as a reader it fell through on multiple points. The way she began the tale of both characters begged for a prolog that didn’t come which left some open-ended questions. This led to the characters be needing more development to really understand them. From time to time you noticed sentence and grammar mistakes but they weren’t really all that distracting. Based on content this book is vividly for an audience of 18+ and as an independent reviewer for Romance Author’s That Rock I am giving this book 3 Hearts

Zodiak Shifters: Marked by Love by Rosalie Redd

A male from her past…forever marked by love.

Rogue Panthera shifter Aramond scouts for enemies on the outskirts of the Keep’s territory, home to his daughter and her mate. While on the prowl he encounters a female from his past, one who etched an unstoppable ache deep in his soul. As she opens old wounds and another rogue male enters her life, Aramond must overcome his fears and set aside both their pasts if he is to win her heart.

Danae runs a safe house, offering sanctuary to Panthera warriors in need. She tends their wounds, offers up a good meal and a place to rest, but keeps them at arms-length to protect her battered spirit still healing after the death of her mate. When Aramond, the sexy loner who’d captured her heart long ago resurfaces in her life, it will take all her will-power not to give in to the burning desire he ignites in her soul.

After forced into a mating, Danae will never depend on anyone, let alone trust a man. Being out alone has a downside, especially when certain males get ideas about being a lone female. Running a safe house for rogue warriors, she never thought she would see the man she fell for as a young woman. Aramond on patrol for the enemy get injured and seeks out the safehouse has heard about in the area. Completely surprised to whom is there, he meets the woman that he always thought he would be mated to. With Danae’s lack of trust and Aramonds knowing she is mated to another, can they let things go or will they have to walk away due to their feelings?
Such a good story to add to the tale of the Panthers. When Aramond was introduced in the previous book, I was hoping the author would tell his story. I liked how the story was short, sweet and to the point. No need for a detailed history when it came from the other book. I totally dig how independent and strong Danae is and how Aramond had to chip away at her walls. Looking forward to more of the continuing story! This is a five star read for me.

Cancun by Kimberly Fox

“You need a rebound. They call me Mr. Trampoline.”

What happens in Cancun, unfortunately for my cheating boyfriend, doesn’t stay in Cancun.
I caught him on the first night of our vacation balls deep in my worst enemy: the bitchy obnoxious girl who my best friend chose to be her maid of honor instead of me.
Now I’m stuck on this resort, in the same small room as my ex, until my friend gets married at the end of the week.
This place is a paradise but it feels like hell.
It’s all going so wrong until I meet Ethan, the dirty talking bad boy with the body carved out of granite.
He’s going to teach me what paradise is really about.
And it isn’t sand and palm trees…
Full length (58,000 words) Standalone Novel. HEA. Lot’s of dirty talk (oh yeah!)
I don’t know about anybody else, but even the most well-read people sometimes just want some escape fiction. There are many times during the course of my work week that I dream of a vacation… sitting on the beach, snippy fruity drinks. And that is what I got from this book: a beach vacation, complete with a smoking hot Alpha male. This book had everything I would want to have on my ideal vacation: sun, surf, hit sex, and seeing a “mean girl” get her comeuppance. I would not rank the book among the likes of Shakespeare or anything, but it was still an enjoyable experience. The book does alternate first person narrator between the hero and the heroine, so pay attention at the start of each chapter so you know whose POV you are getting, or you might get confused; I did, a couple of times. The characters are, for the most part, relatable and the dialog is well-crafted. As I’ve previously mentioned, there are some explicit sex scenes, so 18+ is best. I look forward to seeing what trouble the next bad boy on the beach gets himself into.

Is one side Justified in what they did? When does it stop? Them are some of the questions that I got from this book… I would give this series as a hole a chance… So pick up the first book of this series you will not be disappointed

Bonds by Kris Austen Radcliffe

Daisy Reynolds might be taller and more athletic than the average seventeen-year-old, but she doesn’t make waves. Hiding from her klepto mom’s terrifying Shifter ex-boss makes an invisible life necessary. But when a Burner—a chaos ghoul—gets a whiff of Daisy, hiding turns into running for her life.

Daisy soon realizes the conflicts around her run deeper than nasty ghouls and mean Shifters looking to beat up her mom. Future-seeing Fates want a piece of her, too.
But some fates cannot be escaped unless you have courage… and an unlikely ally.

Bonds, Episode One of The Silence Cycle, introduces Daisy Reynolds Pavlovich, an important new character to the Fate – Fire – Shifter – Dragon universe. Join Daisy as she navigates a landscape punctuated by unfamiliar creatures:

Fates with the ability to see past, present, and future.
Ghouls called Burners who devour with fire and acid.
Shifters who shape much more than their bodies.
And two dragons who speak with color and pattern.

Look for Broken, Episode Two of the Silence Cycle available now

Bonds is the first episode in the fourth book of the Fate-Fire-Shifter-Dragon miniseries of books. Bonds is the first introduction of Daisy Reynolds to this FFSD universe. Daisy is a bloodhound enthraller and starts off in a restaurant which is giving her problems because of her very sensitive nose. Her nose does help her to avoid Ghouls and her abilities help her to heal animals. Daisy is meeting with Gavin, a man she had saved three months ago, but the woman that was saved at the same time is now going to marry a dragon shifter, so he is upset. Daisy had originally been assigned to watch out for the woman because the Fates said she was important in some way to the dragons and that was nine years ago, when Daisy first found out about her powers. If I tell you any more it will ruin the story so read it for yourself.

This book is good. The character development is excellent and the story flows along at a nice pace. This book draws you in and you will be more than ready for the next episode. In fact that is one of the issues with this book, that it was too short and I was ready to read more. Anyone who loves paranormal stories would like this book.

Three Brothers by Samantha Twinn

My life was falling apart until my three stepbrothers came to my rescue.

I lost my mom, my boyfriend, and then my big city job — all within the span of two months. I was about to lose all hope… when my stepbrothers saved me.

Now I’ve been offered a new life in a small town, living with three gorgeous men who are the only family I have left.

Three brothers…three sets of arms to catch me when I fall.

The Nolan brothers are strong and protective — responsible oldest brother Mitchell, fun-loving Reid, and tender-hearted Finn — and I was wildly attracted to each of them the moment I met them. But I know they’re strictly off limits.

After hitting rock bottom, is it possible to start over?

With so much temptation, is it possible to resist?

This is a 47,000-word novel about loss, hope, and desire, featuring three strong, gorgeous brothers. Things reach a climax with hot MFMM scenes that are all about pleasing the woman. Happily ever after guaranteed

This is my first read by Samantha Twinn – and it is definitely not my last!

April, Mitchell, Reid, and Finn are brought together by their parent’s marriage – all are hot and available, but step brothers so they are off limits. After the untimely death of their parent’s, they are thrown back together in their grief and so it seems their attraction for each other. When April’s life takes a tailspin the brother shows up to rescue her.

This one had something a lot of menage books don’t have, a sweet side. You see it as each of the characters grow and change alongside each other. It’s not all kinky noise, there is an actual story woven into the pages. Ms. Twinn’s storylines are tight and forward moving and her characters are strong and believable.

If you like a kinky romance, Menage, and a wonderful story of finding yourself, I recommend this one without pause. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Blood Pheonix Imprinted by Alisha Costanzo

With an old war raging between vampires and shifters, Ria must learn to refocus her life if she’s going to survive.

Her renegade fight was just the beginning. The queen is recruiting new soldiers. Ria’s going on vicious missions with her battle buddy. And her explosive abilities are malfunctioning at inopportune moments.

So now, Ria must forgo her selfish desires to compartmentalize her life, but what’s she to do when she can’t save everyone she wants to. One girl may not be capable of taking down an empire. Good thing Ria’s got help.

This book is the 3rd in the Broken World series and ends in a cliffhanger.  I did not read the first 2 books in the series. As a result, this book was difficult to understand. The story was well written, with a lot of action, but there were a lot of characters and references to events that happened in previous books. The past actions were only mentioned and not explained, making the story hard to follow unless the previous 2 books were read.

>I did understand the Ria is a newly made vampire in some kind of vamp camp led by a sadistic ruler. Ria is in a dangerous love triangle involving the ruler’s consort, her trainer and a leprechaun. Ria is the reincarnation of her trainer’s love, 7 times over. Eventually Gene and Ria follow the passion and sleep with each other. I didn’t get if the relationship was due to Ria or her past lives. Ria also has a tether to a leprechaun. They are in love. There are scenes in the book where Ria sleeps with at least 2 of the 3 men in the same day. How can this be love? Ria fights for her humanity in the face of being a vampire. I would think a love triangle would be a no-no for her. The men all seem aware of the others, as well.

>What Ria is exactly is a mystery. She is a vampire with power over the elements. Made by the queen’s consort, she sleeps with him also. The book is a good paranormal mystery, but not a good romance. I am a reviewer for Romance Author’s that Rock. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 4 stars.

I give this book 4 hearts

So I will start by saying this book is good and the concept is very cool and I really enjoyed it. That said it is a bit confusing and there were instances that I had to reread several times to understand what was happening. I’ve read many shifter books and I rarely run into this so you are not alone if you find it confusing and I don’t think I am lol.

The main character Rysa has always been different, very distracted, fidgety and somewhat scatterbrained however that all changes when she discovers she is much more than human.
She is a fate something she knows nothing about and her whole world is thrust into a world of chaos when she is attacked by crazy burners.
In walks handsome rescuer Ladon a man that is one with a dragon yet they are separate beings, not a shifter. Suffice to say they hit it off she’s beautiful and uber important to the world, he’s lost his way so to speak.
Okay that’s about as much as I can explain. The book is complicated there is a lot going on and to explain it will not do you any favors.
If you like dragons, magic, ancients,
Love, Sex and crazy folks trying to destroy one another give it a try.

But it was wrong! Not only did we take her against her will but she’s a virgin…

And for the first time, we want more than just a quick fix.

Summer’s Note: This is a standalone novel of 50,000 words with a HEA. Bonus books are included to extend your reading pleasure. This book contains mature themes and language, intended for adults only

I’m an independent reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock.
Wow this book has it all… First, off I recommend this book for 18 and older only…but with this title, I would think you knew that..
Most MMF books it’s sex sex and did I say sex and that is it… Not with this book, it has a plot..( and sex lol) Liam and Cameron are hot… And so different from each other… And how they feel for Lily is heart warming… Lily is sweet and just what these men need… Even if they didn’t realize they needed it… The Extended Epilogue at the end of the bonus books is just what was needed to end this book… Summer Cooper has found a fan in me… I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading MMF… You will not be disappointed I sure wasn’t…
