I thought I had it all: a new husband, a baby on the way, and a love that was meant to be. At least, everyone kept telling me my life was perfect.
When it all came crashing down, I ran. As far as I could.
Who’d have thought the one thing to save me would be bucking a cowboy called Wrecker?
It’s lonely at the top.
Especially when you come from rock bottom.
I gave up on a love that lasts a lifetime. Gold diggers, fame wh*res, I just took what I was offered.
At least until I met the girl with the sweet curves and the kind eyes. The one who accepted me for who – and what – I am, not for the fame or the money. The one who might give me my second chance.
Or will she run away again?
Bucked is a steamy standalone novel with a HEA ending, a satisfying epilogue, and NO CLIFFHANGERS!
Kanen has never trusted anyone. Growing up being poor and promising his mother that he would be successful, he has never been treated well by anyone unless they knew about his money. When he meets Chastity and falls for her innocence and beauty, has not sure he can fully trust her or himself and just may have to walk away.
Can either of these two set aside their issues to really get to know one another and accept the feelings that are there or will they both walk away from a love that could be?
I liked this short novella, but almost a little too short for my liking. The author had a good basis to the story but I felt at times I was riding a bull and getting flung from one thought of a character to another. The background of the characters was kind of loose and there wasn’t anything of the secondary characters. I felt a little lost at time with who was butting into whose business. The overall story I enjoyed but had some holes. I would give this read three stars.

Guided by her pack leader’s blind hatred and deceitful ways, Savannah is under the impression that Tom and Nick Brewer are unfit for being shifters. She’s forced into befriending the bears, gaining their trust and using it against them. Afraid of what her pack leader Lucas would do if she refused, she accepts the task and does her best to win the alpha bear brothers over. However, she’s surprised to find that the brothers aren’t the killers that Lucas had made them out to be.
Tom’s always been cautious, especially when his friends and family’s lives are put on the line. That’s why when Savannah applied to work at the Brewer Mechanics, he was immediately on guard. She was attractive, he could admit that, but he couldn’t understand why a shifter was applying to work at his shop. There could be no way this was a coincident. It didn’t help that not only was she was practically handed the job by Jo – Nick’s human mate – but Jo was also trying to push the two of them together…
Content Warning: This book contains lots of sexy shifter action. Intended for mature audiences.
This paranormal romance deals with one of my favorite plots: enemies to lovers. Everything starts with a desire for vengeance, a touch of intimidation and some blackmail. Like this, Savannah, our heroine, is forced by her alpha to befriend the killers of a pack member and find a way to get revenge. Savannah is a very likable character and pitiable too. Even though she tries to hide it, she fears being on her own again and of the harm that her alpha could inflict. I couldn’t help but wish she didn’t have that fear, hate, self-worth and confidence in herself. However, she undergoes a character development unlike any I have seen. The plot evolves in such a way that you live the story along with Savannah. I spent a couple of hours pitying the girl, scolding her, encouraging her, crying with her and sharing her joy. I do believe the author did an excellent job with this character.
Now, our hero, Tom. For Tom, it is quite difficult to see his brother with his mate even though he loves both. Things aren’t getting any easier as hi spends time with Savannah and the sparks fly between them. Nonetheless, the chemistry between them isn’t enough for him to totally trust her, yet. I loved all the family interaction with our hero and heroine. It was so cute and funny to watch. In fact, Jo and Nate were just so easy to like and I loved Jo playing cupid!
I feel in love with this book because it had comedy, romance, vengeance and action. I highly recommend it!

Paige Jeffries’ is the darling of the art world. Her works are original, compelling. But after a brutal attack two years ago —a savage beating from an unknown assailant—Paige has become all but a recluse. She knows her mind is broken. In her sleep she’s drawing scenes of violence. Murders. Going to the cops isn’t an option because they already think she’s crazy. And they may be right.
Seasoned homicide detective Brett Wagner is asked to look into a cold case nobody wants: the assault and battery of a local artist who claims to have drawn a picture of her own attack before it even happened. He remembers shy Paige from high school, and is driven to find her attacker, to believe her when nobody else does, to protect the innocent beauty.
Because when he witnesses firsthand what Paige is drawing in her sleep, Brett realizes they are scenes from actual cases. Cases that had no connection until now. Portland has a secret serial killer, and Paige is somehow linked to his mind.
And he’s coming for her.
A great little suspense novel with some paranormal aspects. Good premise, wonderful steamy sex scenes and realistic portrayals of emotion make it an entertaining read. Not exactly a nail biter, but definitely kept me turning pages!
As an independent reviewer for Romance Authors that Rock, I give it an easy four and a half hearts! It didn’t have quite enough bite to grab that last half a heart but I’ll be reading more of this author for sure!!
Cullen Duffie, a Highland warrior and charming rogue, is the new chief of Clan MacDonald. Determined to prove he’s not his father, Cullen works to secure his clan against the English. When a woman washes onto Islay’s shores, Cullen protects her from his uncles’ schemes.
Waking up not knowing who she is or where she comes from, Madeleine is at the mercy of the man who found her. Unable to speak from the swelling around her throat from a rope tether, she learns as much as she can about the new world around her and the powerful, sword-wielding Highlander who has sworn to protect her.
Through dreams and flashes of her past, Madeleine begins to rebuild her memories. But the more she recalls about the horror she escaped, the more she realizes the jeopardy she is bringing to Islay, Clan MacDonald and the Highlander who has captured her heart.
” Rose” and Cullen have an amazing story that you just can’t miss. This book had me hooked the moment I started, It was hard to put it down, This book had some amazing twist and turns that will keep you up at night, and maybe a box of tissues by your side.
I just had to know who was Rose and how did she get this mystery marks, and would Cullen look past all the negative remarks from his Uncles and just be the man he was meant to be, and not what everyone thought he should be!
Cullen was a great hero, he did not follow the rules like most, he made sure that when he made a promise you knew that he would break it for the world!
Rose was a strong and funny character, I loved her spunk and personality, most of all I enjoyed her strength. She might not know who she is but that will not deter her from being the women she was meant to be, not what she was told to be!
I would recommend this book to all my friends! it’s a great book and written very well, and I can’t wait to find more from this wonderful author!

Nicholas Davenport, the Duke of Elmbury is friends with a woman who is a wallflower. Despite Lillian Rowe’s imperfections, she is a loyal companion. Her companionship truly enlivens the Season for him, and her brilliant conversation sustains his interest better than the rest of the ladies in London. After spending time with his childhood friend, he begins to have a change of heart, and his true feelings can no longer be ignored.
”Nicholas found himself taken aback by his own thoughts. His momentary fixation with Lillian’s keen blue eyes, and the gentle curve of her lips, was unexpected. When had he begun to realize how beautiful his childhood friend had become? When had his appreciation for her charms developed this new dimension?”
˃˃˃ Will romance blossom from the warmth of friendship?
Lillian told him plainly why a marriage between the two of them wouldn’t work. But she could not banish the thought from her mind of how happy the two of them could have perhaps been.
“It saddened her to think of Nicholas wed, to picture him happy at home with a wife who attended to his every need. Doubtless when he wed, the companionship of his bride would leave him with little need to seek Lillian’s company. She would fade to the edges of his life, just as she faded to the periphery of every crowd she found herself within.”

Sevyn tells the story of Kevin, a prodigy child from a Mexican cartel that has a cruel Russian father and a sweet and gentle Mexican mother. His only escape from the hate and cruelty of his father was the time he spent with his best friend Esperanza. I am not a fan of a friend to lovers but, I must confess, that the scene when these two fall in love totally stole my heart away. I do believe the author has talent for writing emotional scenes, I found a lot in the book and they are what, in my opinion, makes the book a page-turner.
The poor boy believes to be cursed by the number 7 because horrible things happen when it is involved. He was born at 7 months and almost didn’t make it, his heart stopped 7 times before he was born, he broke 7 bones by the time he has 7 years old and when he turned 7, he lost everyone he loved. Yeah, I can see a pattern there.
What I loved the most about this book was that it was full of twists. There were times when I felt I knew the guy as well as the palm of my hand, but he will prove me wrong again and again. I saw as much kindness and cruelty in him and I just couldn’t and didn’t want to see the latter. It truly broke my heart to see how twisted life turned him to help him survive. I saw the dark side of his true love and the even darker side of those monsters that kept tormenting them. I also saw light in those monsters and, to be honest, even made me understand them a little. It is always confusing when you see a spark of humanity on someone you thought lacked it. I started to care for some of those cruel people because I became so familiar with them. I could truly feel the turmoil in Kevyn’s heart and how he judged by the Mexican and Russian cartels for feeling something besides pure hate for the rival crime organization. It is a miracle the guy survived and sometimes I wonder if he truly did.
This is not your average mafia romance novel. It is full of mysterious and twisted plots that will make your heart ache and wonder if there is any goodness in this world at all. It has a HEA, but it is probably to the fairy tale kind of one some wish to see. Therefore, be prepare for it and the whole novel. I assure you that once you start it, like it or not, you won’t be able to put it down.

In fact, apart from the angry bit, he was nothing like that.
Life is a bitch, but if Tabitha Brownlee was to be believed, Death is an alcoholic megalomaniac with a penchant for single malt and eyebrows that meet in the middle. The problem? He alone had the power to put her soul back into her body and evict the crazy S.O.B. who’d taken her place.
