Rosemary and Fostino

My story takes place in the turbulent era of the 1920’s, prohibition and gangs running rampant in the streets of Chicago. You will enjoy this new version of the events leading up to one of the bloodiest days in Chicago’s history with Tommy-guns, gangsters and a love story throw in.
Rosemary & Antonio is a sweet and clean historical romance about a couple that had a lot of reason to stay away from each other but that did nothing but fall in love with the other repeatedly. Rosemary is a sweet and young girl that comes from an Italian Catholic family. She has been so focused in her studies that she has had no time for boys. Antonio is a young German-Irishman who is working with his father as a mechanic. He isn’t that fond of responsibilities and the future until he set his eyes on his exact opposite.
This story is set in Chicago, in the 1920. Nevertheless, it kind of remind me of Grease and Romeo and Juliet in some scenes. There is no direct rivalry among families, but there is one between Rosemary’s uncle and the people Antonio and his father work for. I know it doesn’t sound that complicated or dangerous, but believe me when I tell you it is. Our hero and heroine will shred a lot of tears and yell their hearts out because of the stubborn people that couldn’t understand that couldn’t understand real love and that they wanted more in life than a life surrounded by betrayal, crime, and violence.
I loved the way the author painted each one of the scenes in my mind. I could really feel I was sitting next to them drinking coffee or at the garage. Everything felt so vivid and that is a rare talent to find this days. She had me lying, crying, yelling, and falling in love along this them. Therefore, I do believe the readers will go through that too. This book is quite a rare gem that deals with one of Chicago’s darkest moments, Capone’s time, and a pure love that was put to a test because it was born at the wrong place and the wrong time.
I highly recommend this novel to any historical romance reader, who enjoys a quick yet slow and sweet paced romance that goes against the odds, the drama, rivalry and darkness just to keep existing.
