No Such Thing as a Dragon by Lauren Lively

No such things as a dragon is the prequel of a series with the same name. I supposed each book in the series can be read as a standalone. Nonetheless, I highly recommend them to be read to avoid confusions due to references of characters and situations that appeared and took place in previous books of the series.
As you can imagine, this books is about dragons, more specifically Dragonborn. Honestly, I was kind of explaining a kind of Dragon kidnaps damsel to make kind of book. I was very glad that the author got out of a theme that has turned into such a cliché. This book has quite a brave young heroine, Jessica, whose life has not turned as she wished to. However, she goes by. He has a boyfriend and a best friend that means the world to her. That is something, right? Too bad things aren’t what they seem and it will take a very sexy dragon kind stranger to show her what life and love are really all about.
Ozaryan is our Dragonborn. Yes, he is the very definition of alpha male and even comes with a castle! He is too strict through. He knows he shouldn’t be with a human per the laws of his kind. Nonetheless, his chemistry with our heroine is not something that can be easily ignored. Ozy comes to the human world to kill some shadow like monsters that enter human bodies and use them as host, therefore, resulting in the human’s death. Jessica might dislike her boring everyday life but getting entangled into a supernatural dispute wasn’t something she was counting on.
I highly enjoyed the perfect mixture of romance and action of the novel. Nevertheless, I believe that Ozy should be the one doing the seducing. I didn’t like that Jessica had to pound into his thick skull the fact that falling in love with a human wasn’t truly wrong. He should be the one fighting heaven and hell for the girl he loves, consequences and myths be damned. Aside from that, I believe her easygoing attitude and his strict and protective demeanor balance each other quite perfectly. The plot was interesting and has some twist. I truly enjoyed the book and will read the rest of the series!
