I give this book 4 hearts
Bound by a vow with his friends, hotel tycoon Nathan Archer refuses to settle down and tie the knot. His only commitment is to bachelorhood. Granted, that contract was made when he was 15 years old… and in a treehouse. Still, a promise is a promise. And Nate takes his promises seriously.
But when cute little Eleanor Marshall walks back into his life, this blast from the past is no longer the timid little girl he used to know. When Ellie propositions him for a night of sizzling, unattached sex, Nate can’t refuse. Besides, it’s only one night. And Nate is never going to settle down.
Never say never…
**This book was previously published as Never Say Love by Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye**
The chemistry between Nate and Ellie is phenomenal and is born from two people who have known each other most of their lives. There are themes of Dominance and submission but not so strong that this could truly be labeled a BDSM romance. The sex scenes are hot and push the book into mature reader territory, but I really enjoyed the storytelling and how Nate comes to realize that some things, and some people, are worth breaking a childhood vow over.

Aliens have taken over Earth. A second race comes to the rescue but requests brides for their warriors in return. Cassie is chosen but tells her warrior the women are not there by choice. Will she have the same feelings for another warrior that he has awakened in her?
The story was great, action and suspense keep you turning pages. The writing, however, bothered me. I am wondering if the author speaks a different language as some places felt very stilted and stiff.
As an independent reviewer for Romance Authors that Rock, I gave it four hearts for the awesome action and great storyline. The emotional attachment just wasn’t there, thanks to those flat spots in the writing.
Luc Avila’s been searching for his parents with his twin brother Marc for as long as he could remember, and he won’t stop until he knows the truth of their disappearance. When one of his pranks accidentally goes wrong, Dane King, the leader of the American Dragons threatens to make him territory bound. Now Luc has to be careful – he can’t afford to be territory bound. Especially not when the pretty little intern at the new Guardians of Existence facility has captured his dragon’s attention. There was just too much for him to lose.
The summer internship at the Guardians of Existence facility was just one of Anya’s steps towards her goal of uniting the dragons with all of America. Although it was the 21st century, the dragons of America were still exposed to prejudice, and hate. Her father argued that they’d given themselves a bad reputation, one that she felt was wrongly deserved. Now she was finally on the right track to achieve her goal and she wouldn’t let anyone stop her. Especially not agent Howard Beauchamp who couldn’t seem to get it through his thick skull that she didn’t want to go on a date with him.
This is a spin off series of Emilia’s Fated Dragons series, however it can be read as a standalone.
Warning: This series contains lots of sexy shifter action, irresistible mates and steamy love scenes. Tons of mouth watering Paranormal Romance bonus content included!
The Dragon’s Mate is the first book in the Elemental Dragons series and it picks up the story right where Fated Dragons series left it. That is a huge plus to the fans of said series! You get to see how everything goes between the Dragons and the Guardians of Existence. In Fated Dragons, we saw a lot how the human heroines were terrified of and/or resented their dragon mates. In my opinion, it was quite cruel to the dragon. Therefore, I am pleased to say that this heroine, Anya Forrester, is an advocate of the rights of the dragons. She has the strong belief that they should have the same rights as a human and will try her hardest to make the whole community of the Guardians of Existence while she is an intern at their Embassy.
Honestly, I love that this heroine has such strong beliefs and ambitions. No one likes a damsel in distress that never learned to stand up for herself even. Therefore, having a heroine with attitude and character such as Anya is a huge plus. Then again, I suppose you need emotional strength to be the mate of a dragon. Even when I am happy about said side of Anya’s attitude, I am also a little disappointed in her in other aspects. I truly wish she could have been a little more devoted to her dragon mate. Don’t misunderstand me, she loves our hero and helped him figure out what happened to the missing dragons. She even went against the corrupted beliefs of some members of the Guardians of Existence even when they are her people and were everything she once admire and supported. That was a huge blow to her, being torn into what she believes and what people she trusted said is for the best. Our heroine has a backbone, I’ll give you that. Nevertheless, I wish I could have seen her act a little more like a mate and not just a dragon advocate. What I mean is that I noticed how devoted, understanding and honest was our hero towards her. I just wished she could have had the same courtesy towards him. I mean, when you meet you mate your connection should be something quite intense. You should protect your mate from anything and everything, not just physically but also emotionally. I think she didn’t quite do that because she waited for her father to approve our hero. When you truly love someone, you won’t condition it to someone else’s support. Then again, this is my opinion. Judge for yourself the character our heroine has. I assure you, either way, she won’t disappoint.
Now, regarding our hero, Luc Avila. He is a dragon searching for his parents with the help of his brother. There is not much I wish to say about Luc because I truly hope you will give yourself time to truly get to know him and form a solid opinion about his character. I just wish to say that I admire his devotion to his mate and family. That is a huge quality that I love in the main leads and perhaps it is one of the most difficult ones to portray and keep through a whole novel. I am pleased to say our Luc exhibit said characteristically in a realistic and touching matter. Everything about him screams alpha but he has this understanding side that will melt you from the inside. Enough said, just give him the chance he deserves to show you what a great dragon-man he is.
I would highly recommend this novel to any shifter romance fan that is willing to embark on a journey of drama, mystery and a hell of a lot of corruption from a system that should fight for equality instead of against it. Fans of the Fated Dragons series, believe me when I said you don’t want to miss this series! Also, book 2 is already available! Yeah, get to it now!

“For never was a story more of woe
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo.”
– Prince (5:3:309)
For years, the vampire clans of Paris have been at war due to a feud between the Barons Capulet and Montague. When one fight goes too far, the Prince gives the clans an ultimatum; cease the fights or burn at dawn.
Baron Capulet, and his wife, are protective of their only child, Josie. Living a sheltered life, Josie had never even thought about love or marriage until her parents start arranging one. Romain Montague thought he knew what love was, until he sneaks into a Capulet party and sees Josie from across the room.
A faithful retelling of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. Please be warned that the ending has not been changed.
This modernized telling of Romeo and Juliet, offers only two differences from the original classic, new names and they’re vampires. Josie is a young natural born vampire, of the Capulet family. While attending a masquerade at her family home, she meets Romain, a mysterious newcomer, only to learn, he’s a Montague and her families enemy. While it’s love at first sight for these two, unfortunately, it’s not happily ever after, as this story ends the same as the classic. Although this remake was easier to understand, I felt that it had equal other challenges. I felt like these characters offered no new characteristics that could have made them more interesting. I also found the rapid change between characters and scenes made it difficult to follow and had to re-read several passages. Finally, my biggest problem was I found the story boring. It offered really nothing new, except the vampire element and that didn’t captivate me. I rate this story 3 hearts.

But when the mission takes a turn for the worse, Logan wonders if the battle is worth losing the only woman that he can’t stop thinking about.
I laughed, cried and cheered. A strong heroine and stronger hero with a backing cast full of interesting and well written characters. It’s suspenseful, it’s romantic, its heart-wrenching, did I mention there’s a dog?
As an independent reviewer for Romance Authors that Rock, I gave this one 5 full hearts for the tears I discovered on my cheeks more than once. The dog is well trained and smart and doesn’t get hurt, so that was a plus! Sex scenes were steamy and erotic, emotional and fun. Definitely recommended and I’ll be watching for the rest of these!!
War. Family. Love.
Jacob has always obeyed his brothers, his clan… until he meets Sabrina.
The battle is coming. The Alexander brothers are about to face an old enemy in the biggest fight of their lives and they’re not sure if they can win…
Jacob’s adopted brother, Jadrian, is in trouble with the vampires. Jacob knows being adopted by a shifter family must have made Jadrian feel like an outsider and he’ll do whatever it takes to help his brother, including getting involved with the vampire queen Sabrina. Though he isn’t sure he can trust her, his lust for her is undeniable.
But Sabrina has plans which go far beyond just mating, and Jacob may be the key…
Author’s Note: This book contains mature language and themes, intended for adults only.
Jacob was appealing in theory but did not deliver that awe-inspiring story-line you were hoping for. There was little character development so it was hard to connect with the characters and their choices. The biggest faux pas would be the Stockholm Syndrome Jacob had for the little vampire Sabrina he was drawn too. Their relationship was based on lies and sex and yet he gained this magical “love” for the woman in an instant as well as an ego boost that made him arrogant. Under the guise of protecting all species he defied and treated his family like lower class citizens and yet didn’t harbor any more hatred for the women who put the discord between the brothers. The story just did not feel believable and was very rushed. Even with the secondary story mixed in from the youngest brother and his personal drama. Based on content this book is for audiences over 18 and as an Independent Reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock I am giving this book 3 Hearts.
