Finding Spencer by Kimberly Knight

Now if his crazy ex-girlfriend, Christy, would leave him alone, Brandon could move on to where he needs to be. Brandon and Spencer’s story is already written. You know Spencer’s side of it. This is a novella of the first book in the series, Where I Need to Be, but from Brandons’ point of view.  In it we get to see the things that are going on behind the scenes that Spencer doesn’t know about in the first book until a bit later.  Namely that he’s being stalked by a crazy ex that just won’t take no for an answer and will do anything to get back into his life and his bed.  
    This kind of book can really go either way for me, sometimes they are so close to the original that it becomes a boring read.  This book, while slightly repetitive in places did a decent job of really trying to show the events from a new perspective.  I enjoyed knowing what was going on in Brandons’ head, as well as the rare find of a guy actually being nervous and slightly afraid to talk to a woman he likes.  Most books show the guy as an alpha macho type who could never be nervous or vulnerable in any way, it was a nice change to see something different.  
    Overall I liked this little novella and I think its cool that the author plans to keep writing these in between the longer books and continue to give us the guys’ point of view.  Again, the only drawback for me is that she is still extremely detailed in her narrative, but I hope that relaxes a bit as she writes more books.
