Review:

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was not what I was expecting after reading the synopsis. I am still a bit puzzled by the whole concept. I was more shocked to start out in the shoes of a 10 year old boy. This was odd for me because that is not what was pictured on the front of the book and I fail to see how the cover equates to the story.
I think that Rick has great skill in writing, however I am not that into religious books. It took me until 3/4 of the way through the book to finally feel like there was any semblance of a story line. I disliked that the main character finally finds love and then suddenly the plot twist hits and it is like the rest of the story was forgotten. I am not sure if it was a matter of rushing to finish or not good planning. All in all the book was well edited. I am not certain I will read another book if the focus is on the religious aspect as much of this book was. Three fangs.

Author Bio:

I’ve often been accused of having done more in my life than the average person my age, but if I were completely honest I’d have to tell you my secret: I’m really 392.
So after all this time, I’m a pretty crappy writer.
I have one book published but out of print, one coming out soon, and a bunch half written (when you have eternity, where’s the reason to rush?). I’ve been favorably reviewed by horror greats like Nancy Kilpatrick, and my how-to-write-horror articles have been quoted in scholarly (aka community college freshmen’s) papers.
I enjoy the occasional Bloody Mary, although a Bloody Kathy or Susan will suffice.
Mostly, I just try to keep a low profile so people don’t figure out who I REALLY am.
