A cold case leads to blazing-hot temptation in this novel of romantic suspense from bestselling author Kathy Clark. For readers of Nora Roberts and Karen Robards, Almost Forever pairs a rugged lawman with a woman who may just be a murderer.
Justin Archer is a Texas Ranger through and through, a loyal man devoted to the dangerous job he loves. But when the grisly discovery of a skeleton in a local vineyard turns an old missing-persons case into a vicious homicide, Justin finds that the toughest challenge of his professional career will be keeping his hands off his chief suspect: the dead man’s beautiful, young trophy wife. Did Lori Roberts kill for vast material gain? The only thing Justin knows for sure is that their chemistry is instantaneous—and overpowering.
Lori worked hard to build a new life for herself and her daughter. She turned her husband’s struggling vineyard into a thriving enterprise, and now she stands to lose it all over something that happened eight years ago. Justin could lock her up and throw away the key, but Lori desperately wants to trust him. More than that, she wants to let him into her wounded heart. Because Lori’s been running from the past for a long time . . . and she’s ready to start living for the future.

When she was a child, Avery Harmen watched her father die at the hands of a Glower–a breed of demon that feeds on dreams of fame and glory. Now she secretly protects the rising stars of Los Angeles from the demons that prey on them, determined to make sure her clients never suffer the same fate.
Then Avery finds herself assigned to Colin Ryder, a young indie rocker who just landed a major label deal. Colin is cocky, rebellious, a brilliant musician, and already in the Glowers’ sights. He’s also far too hot for Avery to ignore the chemistry between them–especially when she gets to know the tender side behind his celebrity facade. Though Avery knows she’s falling too fast, she’s willing to risk heartbreak if fanning the flames of attraction distracts Colin from his Glower-tempting antics. But Colin is keeping a secret of his own, one so big it will put both her heart and his soul on the line.
The first book in The Glower Chronicles, a steamy New Adult paranormal series.
Each book in The Glower Chronicles contains a stand-alone romance, but it is recommended that you read them in order to best appreciate the ongoing subplots
When Avery Harmen was seven years old, she discovered just how real those demons, Glowers, were when she and her mother found her rock star father having overdosed. Because she could now see the Glowers, Avery was recruited to be a member of the Tether Society and charged with being the person who would tether a fame junkie to the mundane world and remind him or her that there were ordinary things worth living for. When Avery is assigned to a plast from her past, Colin Ryder, she doesn’t realize just how difficult her task is going to be.
I really enjoyed this book and the world that the author has created. I’m always interested in an author who can take an ordinary idea like the metaphorical demons gathering around celebrities and other fame junkies and turn that into a paranormal reality without making it feel contrived. I am looking forward to future outings in the Demons of Fame series. There are a few steamy scenes, so I would only recommend this book for adult readers.

Born amid the bigotry of the Deep South, mixed-race Joseph is a slave in all but name. Separated from his mother at birth, he yearns to run away from his loveless home and find her. It’s a journey that will take him from plantation to plantation and hardship to hardship, yielding joy, sorrow, and love along the way.
Years later, Joseph’s son, Isaiah, faces his own journey: coming to terms with his homosexuality. But society is still slow to accept change, and Isaiah fears rejection from even those closest to his heart.
From 1940s Mississippi to the civil rights era of the ’60s and the push for LGBT equality, Journey of a Cotton Blossom follows three generations of a family fighting for liberation. J. C. Villegas paints an eye-opening story that will inspire readers to open their hearts to love. Though her characters face different types of discrimination, they all draw strength from love and from their faith in God. Can Joseph find the mother he has never met? Can Isaiah survive injustice and adversity? And can they each learn to love themselves in the face of a world that challenges their right to exist?
What an awesome and inspiring story!! A story of hope. A story of perseverance in the face of bigotry and ignorance. Two generations of fighting for equality. It is a romance, but it is also a drama. Life is both and this is the story of many lives. Fantastic strong characters and clear concise writing kept me turning the pages.

This is the first installment in a romantic fantasy thriller series, filled with psychic romance suspense, paranormal, and science fiction twists and turns! (
This is my first read by D. N. Leo. It took me a few chapters to get into it but after the story gets moving it is great! We are brought into Orla’s world. She is a thief and has been hiding that she is a sorceress from her boyfriend of 12 years, Lorcan. Lorcan is a computer hacker and Orla is his world. They usually steal ancient artifacts for wealthy clients but something is off this time. Orla is forced into taking a job that she is to steal a kidnapping victim.
During, this job Lorcan learns about Orla’s secrets, that she is a sorceress and has been cursed, that whoever loves her is destined to die. Then she mixes in a psychic little boy, demons out for blood, a deity that is a bit sketchy (JMO), and dark magic. The story is forward moving and will keep you turning pages. Her characters are strong and well rounded.

How does a six-year-old girl understand a Zombie apocalypse? This is beautifully written and allows you to enjoy the story even though a child is the main character. This is also one of my favourites in the book.
A man ready to give up on life finds that maybe a Zombie apocalypse is just what he needs to find his place in society. Full of humour and amusing situations if a little dark. This was my favourite out of the whole collection.

You Should Never Mix Business with Pleasure
… Especially When Your Business is Pleasure
I’ve never mixed business with pleasure, even though my business is pleasure. I pamper and please my clients every night, and then head straight home to sleep and study for class the next day.
The seductive lure of dancing was just that, a lure. Beneath the sultry profession lies a slippery underworld. Letting your guard down is dangerous. Especially when you’re tempted to do so by your club’s owner.
Give her two minutes and any dancer you pull will give up her sob story about how she ended up in a place like this. Regardless of the path, they’re all the same: money and status are the motive.
Blair’s different. Plenty of dancers know their way around a pole. Blair knows her way around your heart. She swirls her hips slow and syrupy, like she’s churning ice cream. And the whole time she’s working you, her bedroom eyes stare straight into your soul.
She’s one of the club’s biggest moneymakers.
She’s also my biggest fantasy.
Business with Pleasure is a standalone romance with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a happily ever after guaranteed. Click to read this steamy tale.
Business with Pleasure
Cam owns a strip club, but has never wanted anything personal to do with the girls until Blair started at his club. Blair started dancing to help pay her college tuition, but has never really enjoyed it. I felt this book was a spin on the Pretty Woman story, but the stripper version and with an added surprise (not sure it was really surprising) at the end. Overall I rate this story a 3 hearts. There wasn’t anything necessarily wrong with it, it was just somewhat predictable and nothing really interesting in it. It had some steamy scenes but I didn’t feel that the rest of the storyline did enough to support them. I found Blair a bit cliche, being a “modern woman”, obviously in charge of her own sexuality, but appeared to have an internal tug of war between being honestly kinda slutty and wanting to be an independent woman who doesn’t need anyone.

A shifter and a human together? Unimaginable…
One careless decision. The colony betrayed. Tanen’s only course is a desperate hunt for justice, but his solo mission is cut short when he’s mortally wounded during a fight. Rescued by a sweet, innocent female who nurses him back to health, he can’t deny the passion that burns between them. Now he must choose between his duty and honor or his desire for the precious, but forbidden, human female.
Broken promises and ruined love hardened Sheri’s heart. When she finds an injured and extraordinarily sexy man on her property, she’s pulled into a world she never imagined. As she nurses him back to health and they bond over their love of books, she’s torn between the lessons she learned from her rough past and the need to seek solace in Tanen’s arms, but she must learn to trust him, and herself, in order to survive
A week on the hunt for the escaped prisoner, Tanen catches up with the traitor Mauree and she’s not alone. After being badly beaten by the Gossum and close to death, Tanen is able to find shelter from the sun in a humans shed, but not for long.
Sheri is a rehab nurse on her way to Portland to start brand new. A terrible marriage and a lying, drug addicted husband, she just wants to forget. Coming home from the hospital she finds a gorgeous, yet completely wounded man in her shed. Compelled to help him, she doesn’t realize exactly who and what he is and who else she’ll come across. Someone else she has been taking care of in a whole other way.
Definitely loving this series. I very much enjoyed this book. For some reason, I really enjoyed Maurees character. No matter how evil a character can be, the deviousness in some just hook me. I was up in arms a few times at some of the plot twist, but hey, that makes for fantastic reading! This is not only a great stand alone book, but would recommend the series from the start. I am very much looking forward to the next read! I give this a five star rating.
