Rafe crossed one ankle over the other and pretended to check his phone messages while he waited. Her sweet voice leaked out the door as someone held it open and she said her goodbyes. “Thanks, Uncle Joe. I’ll call you next week then?”
“I’ll be here.”
And then the waiting was over. The first thing Rafe saw was a tan sexy leg emerge into the sunshine. And the body that followed made his palms sweat.
“Oh.” She set a hand on her chest, startled, as the door behind her closed with a snick. “You—”
“Sorry. Didn’t mean to scare you.” Rafe alternated his weight from one foot to the other.
She stared at him for a moment and glanced over her shoulder. The running car engine must have grabbed her attention.
Two seconds later she whipped her head back toward Rafe, stepped into the space between his legs, and entwined her arms around his neck. “Mind if I use you?” She didn’t wait for an answer. Before Rafe could wrap his mind around his good fortune, the pixie had tipped her head, leaned in, and planted a kiss on him that scrambled his brain. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, he set his hands on her lower back and held her tight as he deepened the kiss.
God almighty. She tasted of mint and smelled like sunshine. He was vaguely aware of the Lexus speeding away but didn’t break contact with the woman’s soft lips to investigate.
Finally, she pulled back. Her eyes were wide, her mouth open, wet from their kiss, and she gasped for air. “Shit.” She stepped back. “You can kiss.” She touched her mouth with her fingers as though ensuring it was still there.
Rafe smiled. “Thank you. Um, I don’t know what to say. Rafe Walker.” He held out his hand in the narrow space between them. “Can’t complain about meeting a gorgeous woman in that fashion.”
The woman smiled, awkwardly shaking his hand with her head tipped to one side and her eyes narrowed. She pointed toward the door with her free hand. “You’re the one who got punched in the face.” Her gaze landed on his left eye.
“The one and only. I got distracted.” He smiled. “But not as distracted as I am now.”
“So, how does a guy who works with numbers all day get so buff?”
Mason inhaled, his chest puffing up at her comment. She hadn’t overlooked a single characteristic about him that normally left women swooning. She just chose to pretend she was unaffected. “I work out. A lot.” More than you can imagine.
When Rafe said to keep his hands to himself, Mason was pretty sure he also meant for him to keep his mouth shut about a lot of things.
“Really? Huh. Couldn’t tell.” Oh, she was all spit and vinegar.
“What about you? What do you do when you aren’t lining up roses?”
“Lining up roses?” She laughed again. “You’re so good with words.”
You have no idea. My words can make you cream your panties if I so choose.
“I read. I jog. Hang with friends. I work a lot of hours.” She looked out the window.
By her body language, he knew she was leaving out several parts of her life—intentionally. What are you hiding, Ms. Jenna the rose girl?
Whatever it was, it couldn’t be as big as his own personal secrets. He was not one who should judge.
Jenna reached for her purse on the floor and rummaged around inside until she produced a hair clip. She lifted both arms and pulled her long straight locks back, twisting the glossy strands into a knot at the back of her head.
“Don’t.” The word slipped out before he could stop it.
She froze, the clip between her teeth, and turned to look at him.
He couldn’t help it. If he was going to spend the evening with her, he wanted to at least have the pleasure of admiring her silky black hair. The librarian look wasn’t going to do it for him. “I like it down,” he muttered. “It’s beautiful.” As he pulled to a stop at a red light, he turned and reached for her wrist, tugging her hand down. “Leave it?”
He was so out of his league here. It had been years since he’d entertained a woman for thirty minutes who didn’t know who and what he was. His words tumbled out haphazardly under the stress.
Women didn’t usually ignore his demands, but this particular woman didn’t know that.
The look she gave him made his vision blur for a moment. She took a deep breath, and the clip fell from her lips to her lap. Her right arm still held her hair in the air, but the locks slowly slipped between her fingers and cascaded back around her shoulders.
Mason ran his hand through a section and leaned in to smell the scent of her shampoo. He closed his eyes and learned her scent, feminine, floral of course.
Someone honked, and he jerked his gaze back to the front and grabbed the steering wheel. He hit the gas a bit too hard, and they lurched forward.
Jenna didn’t comment. She lowered her arm and stuffed the clip back into her purse. She turned her gaze to look out the passenger window. He saw her chest heaving with breaths out of his peripheral vision.
Fuck Rafe and his demands. There was no way in hell he could let this woman go. He’d had good intentions, but for Christ’s sake, she was so damn malleable he wanted to pull over and see what else he could command her to do.
Instead, Mason gripped the wheel harder and concentrated on driving. He might not be able to keep any promise about leaving Jenna alone, but he could at least get her from point A to point B without mauling her in the car. Later…
“Take off your panties.”
Emily froze. He’d known she would. He’d intentionally pushed her to the edge of her comfort zone and then let her topple over the precipice. “Here?”
“Now?” She lifted her gaze to his.
“You’ve only learned three rules and you’re already breaking them all.” Surely this wouldn’t take long.
Her mouth opened again.
Rider waited. He fought to keep from smiling. He fought to keep from clasping his dick in his hand. Hell, he fought to keep from reaching across the table and licking that gloss right off her lips to confirm what the flavor was.
What the hell are you thinking? The woman can’t do this. She isn’t submissive. But Rider knew subconsciously he was lying to himself. She was eager to learn and trembling splendidly with every instruction.
Emily lowered her entire head in a sharp movement before she remembered it was her gaze he was concerned about and corrected herself. “Sorry, Sir.” She tugged her hands from under her thighs as though they’d been glued to the vinyl bench. She set her fingers on her lap and glanced around the bar area.
“Don’t concern yourself with anyone else. The only person who matters right now is me. Besides, Extreme is filled with Doms and subs. Few people in this club have the time or inclination to pay attention to one wayward newbie in a dark corner removing her panties under the table.”
Emily brought her face back to center. She sat still for several moments. Finally, she lifted her ass the scant inches necessary, tucked her hands under her skirt, and squirmed as she drug her panties over her ass, across her thighs, and down her legs.
Fuck me. Rider lifted a hand and held it open, palm up. “I’ll take those.” He fought to control his voice. Damn.
Emily gasped. Her fingers shook as she brought the fistful of her panties above the table and set the wad on his palm.
Rider wanted to lift the panties to his face and inhale her scent instead, but he would content himself with knowing he could always do that later. Instead, he stuffed the treasure in the pocket of his jeans, leaning to one side to make the opening more accessible. He gritted his teeth when his hand brushed against his cock through the pocket.
When he’d righted himself, he spoke again. “Now, lift yourself off the bench and pull your skirt out from under your ass. Sit with your bare skin on the vinyl.”
Emily hesitated again, but she didn’t look around this time. She did as he told her.
“Spread your knees. I can’t see well from here, so I’m going to have to assume you’re following my instructions.”
She flinched, but her wiggling told him she’d complied, at least to a certain extent.
“Do I make you horny?” He didn’t bother lowering his voice.
“Yes, Sir.” She gripped the edge of the table again.
“I need verification.”
She sucked in a breath and waited.
“Dip two of your fingers into your pussy as far as you can. Show me how wet you are.”
“I— I can’t do that…Sir. Not here.” She glanced around again.
“Do you want to learn the ropes or not?” He leaned closer into her space. He knew he made her more uncomfortable than she’d ever been in her life. He also knew it was necessary. Her actions following his command would determine the rest of their relationship with each other. If Emily could follow this instruction and the one he intended to follow it with, he would know deep inside, she was submissive. There would be hope. For her or for me?

What if you used a love potion, then met the love of your life?
Mia has been lusting after her next door neighbour, Skyler, for months, and has finally decided to do something about it. But when Felix, the best man at her sister’s wedding, shows up, she realises it might not be Skyler she wants after all. With a love potion in the mix, and her sister’s insistence on marrying the wrong man, doesn’t Mia have enough to worry about?
Witch’s Potion is book 1 of the Thornheart Coven series.
This is the 1st book in the Thornheart Coven series and ends in an HEA. Mia is a witch with a crush on her neighbor. She concocts a love potion to get him to take her to her sister’s wedding. At the wedding, Mia meets the best man, Felix. He is a Dryad, but that term is never explained. With his references to a willow tree, I think he is like a Druid with an affinity for nature. His powers aren’t really discussed. Felix and Mia have instant chemistry, but both characters need a little more development.
Will her past destroy our future?
The moment I saw her
I knew Quinn Hopson was mine
A firebrand of temper and temptation

Read my 4-star review of Tamed by Xander Hades
The funny thing about this story is that, just like life, fate is determined to push you to your limits. It raises you enough to touch the sky and then pull you down in the blink of an eye. This happened to Jen, she met someone that seemed different. Someone that she felt a certain connection with. Yes, this attraction leads to steamy sex but, honestly, I understand her need for him to be different, her desired to do what she felt for once and, of course, her pain and disappointment when things didn’t go her way. The desire to travel or the pressure of her parts to send her to medical school was a walk in the park compared to what life had in store for her and the jerk of our hero, Dan. Two horizontal bars were the star of everything for them, for better or worse.
What I loved about the book was how it portrayed the human emotions and reactions during critical and difficult decisions. Our main character showed immaturity, recklessness, fear and so many traits displayed by the young. However, they grew into better characters that were both responsible and supportive. Attraction turned into a deeper connection and, I am pleased to tell, the end was something real. There was not a: they lived happily ever after with millions and a big house at an exotic place with its own private beach. You may not understand it now, but you will, in time. The ending was good, felt real and left enough for our characters to keep growing in the future.

What happens when you’re caught between a rockstar and a hard…place?
I had managed to stay out of trouble for so long. But I should know better than anyone that when you’re paid to expose scandals trouble is inevitable. I’ve always done my best to keep my hands clean in a dirty business but there is just something about the international rock sensation I’m assigned to cover that makes me think filthy thoughts. With a flawless face and a body that would make a linebacker jealous, Christoff Diemacht Hartmann is drop dead gorgeous. His voice sounds like dark chocolate, sweet with the perfect hint of bitterness that makes my hair stand on end. He knows what he’s got. So it’s no surprise that he’s the most arrogant and infuriating man I have ever met before. He’s a rich, cocky and rebellious womanizer who is used to always getting whatever he wants however he wants it.
Until he meets me.
As much as I want him I can’t let him have me. I know better than to hand my heart to someone who is known for breaking them. And besides, he has competition. The ultra powerful and mysterious, billionaire music mogul Trevor Dunaway warned me to stay away from him but I couldn’t. The more he pushed me away the deeper he pulled me in. There is so much he isn’t telling me and my heart is hungry for his secrets.
Which rockstar billionaire will strike the cord that rocks my heart?
Rock Hard German Billionaire is filled with high drama and loads of naughty fun. Don’t miss this steamy billionaire rockstar romance! Download Today.
Giavanna Johnson is a freelance journalist covering various aspects of the entertainment industry and has done since college. When she gets the chance to interview one of her idols, German hard rock singer Christoff Hartmann, she thinks it will be the big story her career needs to grow beyond the confines it’s been in. What she doesn’t understand is that meeting Christoff is just the beginning.
I have to say, I didn’t really like Giavanna. She goes on about how she doesn’t want to be seen as someone who sleeps her way to big stories, but she turns out to be just that. And for someone who seems very focused on her career, she does not seem to really know what she wants. I also really, really don’t like Trevor…. and don’t see my opinion of him changing anytime soon.
With two major characters that I really don’t like, why 4 out of 5? Because, despite the fact that I don’t like either of them, the story was interesting enough that I wanted to keep going. The book does not end in a cliffhanger, but it’s obvious that the story will continue, and I’m invested enough in the characters that I am interested in seeing where their lives go from here.
Sex scenes are plentiful and explicit and the book is recommended for mature audiences 18+.
Wow…. in the first book of the series, I did not like Trevor. And this installment has NOT changed my opinion. In fact, I like him even less now. But this installment has made me like Giavanna better. Whether or not I continue to like her going forward remains to be seen. I think that the biggest issue I had with this book is its depiction of BDSM. There are some things that the author got right, but a lot of it seemed to me that the author got her facts from reading other BDSM fiction rather than from knowing someone in the lifestyle or from firsthand experience. A Dom needs to have his way, to be sure. But any Dom worth that title would not disregard a potential submissive’s misgivings the way Trevor does Giavanna’s. Open and honest communication are the keywords and it did not seem like communication was encouraged. The ending of the book saved it for me, and I’m very interested to see if Giavanna’s newfound strength and maturity continues in future books. But I strongly recommend that the author do some research into BDSM before including it in other novels.
Sex scenes are plentiful and explicit and the book is recommended for mature audiences 18+.

When a new drug goes rampant in the Tehrex Realm, shifter Zeke Jackson heads to New Orleans to get to the bottom of things. Thrust into a city filled with mystery and magic, Zeke finds more than he had bargained for with the seductive Voodoo Priestess, Tia Benoit. Forced to follow Tia into the world of the dead to get his answers, Zeke finds himself in over his head. Finding his Fated Mate wasn’t supposed to be part of this mission and in an effort to keep Tia safe from the dangerous drug dealers, Zeke strikes out on his own. Soon he realizes his mistake as he is taken captive and is at the mercy of the needle shoved in his arm. Will he become the next Angel’s Kiss victim or find his way back to Tia, the only addiction he craves?
This novella is part of the Dark Warrior Alliance series and ends in an HEA. Zeke is a panther shifter sent to New Orleans to look into the source of a deadly drug, Angel’s Kiss. This drug is deadly for shifters and Zeke enlists the help of a voodoo mambo to find where the drug is being manufactured and stored. As a love story, of course Zeke and Tia find they are fated mates. This story has an interesting premise, but some parts of the story are missing. Zeke is a pack animal shifter, yet is traveling alone. Some backstory into his pack life and desire for a mate would have rounded out his character a bit more. Tia is a mambo, but that term is never explained. A reader can infer that a mambo is a type of voodoo priestess. A little explanation would go a long way in this case.
She won’t rest until they’re all dead… but then she meets him, and everything changes.
Vanessa Lockhart is a vampire hunter, like her father before her, ever since those foul beasts murdered her mother. When she stumbles upon Anton, a vampire who doesn’t kill humans, she doesn’t relent. He protects himself from her onslaught, but even though he doesn’t fight hard, Vanessa is injured. That he doesn’t kill her, that he heals her instead, leaves Vanessa baffled.
A vampire clan hunts Vanessa, intent on killing her for slaying their leader several days ago. Anton manages to save her…but only by turning her into a monster like himself.
In retaliation, the clan kidnaps Emma, a young friend of Vanessa’s. She’ll need to accept her new second life, and Anton’s help, if she’s to save Emma…and maybe, just maybe, she’ll also find a way to forgive Anton for making her a vampire.
This novella is a standalone paranormal romance that ends in an HEA. Anton is a vampire that suffers guilt just from being a vampire. Vanessa is a vampire hunter vowing to eradicate all vampires. Her father was a vampire hunter after her mother was killed by a vampire. When Anton saves Vanessa he tries to show her there are good and bad vampires. Anton’s character had a lot more backstory than Vanessa’s. Vanessa just seemed full of hatred.
Her mission was to save shifters, not to fall in love with one!
Valentina – Sexy, confident and a true warrior. It wasn’t that she didn’t like Kain Keto. He just annoyed her. The way he lazily lay around just put her teeth on edge. And she happened to think that freeing enslaved shifters from Herta was very serious business.
Kain – He loved attractive women. Actually, he liked all women of all kinds. And he had the Tinder history to prove it. He wasn’t exactly what one might call picky. But something about this sassy warrior had him captivated. Underneath her tough exterior, he could see a vulnerability and a softness that definitely made her true mate material.
When Valentina falls victim to one of the shifter hunters, will Kain seize his opportunity and be able to save her? From two different worlds, could there really be a future together or is Kain just deluded in his quest?
This is the book 4 in the ” Shifter Fever” Series, but can also be read as a standalone. No cliffhangers. The story contains strong sexual themes/language and is not intended for readers under the age of 18. FREE on Kindle unlimited
Kain’s game is the 4th book in the Shifter Fever series and, even though all the books in the series can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading them in order. I started reading book 4 and understood most of the plot and fell in love with each of the characters. However, I didn’t understand some references of the plots of previous books. So, start at book 1 and I assure you that you will be in book 4 in the blink of an eye. Yes, the series is that good!
So, here goes my favorite parts of the books. Valentina is one of the best female heroines ever. She is cunning, honest and straight forward. She says what she thinks and wants without thinking twice about it. That kind of honesty is very refreshing and watching her fall in love with her exact opposite was quite heartwarming and adorable. Our hero, well he is a true womanizer. He has had his fair share of women but when he set his eyes on Valentina, something changed inside of him. I so wish he wasn’t that slow to act on his feelings. Then again, I supposed something happens for a reason.
What I loved the most about Kain was his devotion to Valentina. He admired her strength and her personality but still treat her like the wonderful lady that she is. One second he was admiring her strength and wit, the next he wanted nothing but to kiss the hell out of her and, in the blink of an eye, he thought she was the cutest thing on Earth. He is the whole package and that is hard to get lately.
I loved Alec, Val’s sibling. He was so funny and annoying and protective. I so want a big brother like that. It wasn’t just Alec, I loved the family Alec made on Earth but felt a little bit hurt that Valetina was left behind at Herta. I kind of wished things could have been different but, then again, everything happens for a reason.
I devoured this book in a day and I am sure you will too. I highly recommend this novel to any lovers of fantasy and science fiction.

5 ❤ Review of Kain’s Game
Her world is ending, but only she can stop all of existence from meeting the same fate…
This stunning novel begins when a pending divorce and job loss force Alena Ford out of her elite life in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, and into a gritty section of Brooklyn. Stripped of everything, she is forced to face the demons of her past and the ghosts in her heart. When Alena befriends her eccentric neighbor Gloria, the woman’s stunning amethyst necklace and Black Madonna painting draw her into a world of ancient secrets, dark forces, and powerful magic.
It is a world in which black women are divine. Alena finds that it is up to her to save humanity from a universal evil, the Shetani. To succeed, Alena must first conquer her own darkness; if she loses, the fate of the world is at stake. A brilliantly crafted story that seamlessly grapples race, oppression, divinity, and the redemptive power of forgiveness.
“Riveting and engaging. A Fistful of Honey is an epic, spellbinding tale filled with heart-pounding action. Crawford offers a thrilling sensory experience reminiscent of Octavia Butler’s sci-fi and fantasy classics that will transport you between times and worlds; across the plains of Africa, to the rice fields of the deep south.”
-Debrena Jackson Gandy, New York Times bestselling author of Sacred Pampering Principles: An African-American Woman’s Guide to Self-Care
Let me start out by saying that this book is a really enjoyable read. As a person who is about as far from the main character as can be, I found Alena’s journey moving and inspirational. The supernatural elements involved in the book are ones not dealt with often in the fiction I read, and that difference is refreshing. The main characters are fleshed out well, and feel real…which I think is needed in writing that has mystical and supernatural elements. I also felt like I was given enough story that most of the book did not feel rushed.
Some of the transitions were a little rougher than others, and the ending felt a little abrupt, even though I think it stopped at the right moment. I did get left with a few questions about what had happened with an important character…something happened with the guide Gloria that I thought needed some explaining. Again though, overall this book was well done. While a reader might not agree with everything presented, Malena Crawford has a distinct voice that should be heard and considered.
