A World at War…
Shape-shifting Lemurian warriors battle against a deceptive, ruthless enemy in the dark of night. The prize—Earth’s most precious resource—water, and the fate of humankind.
A reckless commander…
Panthera leader Demir is stricken by the enemy’s dart and trapped in his fevered, haunted mind with only the memories of his brutal, violent past and his lost mate. When Aramie, his second in command, takes control of the Pride, she breaks one of the revered laws in her quest for the sacred blue sunstone—Demir’s only chance at life. His duty and honor force him to impose punishment despite his unbidden desire to claim her as his mate.
A hardened warrior…
Battle hardened Aramie is strong and determined—she will never bow to the Panthera mating ritual and sacrifice her independence. Instead, her deeply buried feelings for Demir drive her to a dangerous quest and rash decisions. With grief fueling her anger, she takes on a solo mission for revenge, and when Demir’s life is on the line, she must decide—submit to him as his mate, or lose him forever.
Right from page one, we are dumped back into the war the Lemurians have created on Earth, specifically the God Zedron and Goddess Alora. Demir, the leader of the Panthera Pride is laying in a coma, after taking a loaded dart meant for King Noeh, leader of the Stiyayha people. The dart would have killed Noeh, but due to his hearing loss Noeh never heard Ram pull the trigger and took the hit for him. Noeh’s healer has tried everything to heal him and nothing is working. His condition is actually worsening. Although he can hear everything going on all around him, he can’t force him mind to make any of his muscles move or even his eyelids flutter. His second in command Aramie, visits him every day. Whatever was is that dart made him clear-headed for the first time in his life even though it very well may kill him. He notices something different about Aramie as well as his reaction to her, and it’s not like that of a second command. Aramie is searching Noeh’s castle in a freenzy trying to find a cure. She’s also trying to hold the Pride together as interim Leader, but no one wants to follow a woman. She’s doing the best that she can on all fronts, even though in her heart she feels it’s not enough. Finally she’s given a scrap of hope from Ginnia the Keep’s seer, now she’s just got to find what she needs and hope it will heal Demir. All without getting anyone killed and without running into the Gossum. Easy, right?
