Synopsis
Love is the ultimate game changer…and this time it’s winner take all.
Now that his lover is back in his arms, Belphagor is taking his own sweet time to say the words Vasily longs to hear: “You’re my boy.” And savoring the sweet torture of driving the firespirit into a frenzy of unfulfilled need.
As the undisputed master of Heaven’s gaming tables, Belphagor never plays unless he’s certain of winning. But this time, political machinations send the game—and Vasily—tumbling to the brink of even his formidable control.
Vasily can’t deny enjoying their delightfully edgy play—until the airspirit auctions him off for a night to the one demon with a gift for taking things too far. Seductive Silk, tight-lipped about the end of his relationship with the sweet submissive Phaleg, may also be involved with a new faction threatening the pregnant queen of Heaven.
Belphagor couldn’t be less interested in the games angels play, but when angelic and demonic intrigues overlap, he’s drawn in against his will. And forced to break his one inviolable rule: Never gamble what you can’t afford to lose.
Warning: Contains more than a mouthful of m/m ménage, with intense D/s situations featuring intricate rope work, balaklavas, and a flurry of snow.
Belphagor is taking is own sweet time to say the words Vasily wants to hear, “you are MY boy” and enjoying punishing Vasya for his own shortcomings. Not that Vasya is complaining, but he longs for those 4 words. Politics play a huge part, and Beli finds himself spying on Silk, the boy who they rescued from the hands of slavers on Earth. Silk, and Phaleg has had their own issues, and Phaleg finds himself also spying on Silk, and Silk takes it not so well when he finds out. Also, when news of the missing girls from the Fletchery reaches Beli, he finds himself gambling, at the Wingcasting table, the very thing he cannot afford to lose, Vasily.
OH! my favourite one, and such a shame these demons have come to an end (sort of, anyway!) We catch up with all the favourite characters, and some not so favourite ones, and some new baddies emarge. all the usual M/M and M/M/M and so on. I think the line that Vasya thinks, that sex to Belphagor isnt initmate, its the spanking that is, sums it all up. Beli only spanks Vasya, and no one else is allowed to. We get to hear from all the main characters, Beli, Vasya, Silk, and Phaleg and i would have liked to have heard from Anyushka too, when she scuttles off to do what she does. Brave girl. We also get some rules for Wingcasting, and to be honest, they went whoosh! straight over my head BUT i liked that I could attempt to understand it! 😛
I cant fault this book, I really cant. Its dark, its gritty, its sexy and has lots of sex! But it has a story too, and that story isnt really concluded, except that Beli and Vasya get as much as a happy ending as they can. The treasonous factions of Heaven are up to no good, and they arent quite finished yet! As I said in my review from the second book, all three of The House of Arkhangel’sk series, which follows on from this have been added to my wish list.
5 full fangs!
